(Archive) “Twell Regor” Fashion Show & Live Event

Twell Regor’s first fashion show was conceived as more than a conventional runway presentation. Across three live events, the project brought fashion, music, performance, and nightlife together into a shared environment, culminating in a runway presentation and after-party. The event attended by approximately 350 people.

Rather than separating the collection from its audience, the runway unfolded directly through the crowd. Models, photographers, performers, skaters, friends, and guests occupied the same space, allowing the presentation to move between fashion show, performance, live art, and party.

The event established an approach that would continue to shape Twell Regor: fashion as a social experience rather than an isolated object—something worn, photographed, performed, and experienced among people. taken in California, USA by @twell.regor

“I’ve always had confidence. I’ve never been nervous. I’ve never had anxiety. I’ve never second-guessed myself.

If I want it, I go get it. I’m always in go mode—I just go. I don’t know what fear is.

When they talk about ‘that nigga,’ I’m him. I’m him. I’m that nigga.”

As the release of “I Asked Her” — the debut album by @twellregor approaches — we thought it best to look back on what we achieved with “Bloom” which was his debut under the Amor Experientia. For those who were fans at the time Bloom was supposed to be released under the group name “Being and Nothingness” a group composed of Twell Regor and Christine Olsen. However, as independent first releases go it was experimental and everything went wrong and right—upwards and downwards. Now we’re on solid footing and I Asked Her is projected to go much farther than Bloom ever will.

“Thank you to everyone who listened, looking back I’m not the biggest fan of this project. Christine made the entire thing what it was because my production was so scattered and undeveloped at the time but I’m happy it got out there. 100+ countries. Hundreds of thousands of streams is farther than I ever thought was possible. However, it gave me a benchmark. If I could take a loose and undeveloped last minute project to 100 countries maybe just maybe I can take my focused work (I Asked Her) even further. I got an offer from a record label in Italy and they loved bloom but I turned them down because I believed I could do better independently. I put up like $10K to make I Asked Her. Anyways. That got tangential. Thank you to everyone who heard, reviewed, liked, hated, and shared my music. I’m honored and egoless when it comes to music because I still get surprised when people like my music. And I’m shocked every royalty check I get. And I know people much better, much more connected in the industry who performed lower numbers so I feel like it was all luck so for this next project I’m counting on my merits. Also special thanks to those 13 fans. I don’t know who you are but to be your fav artist is an honor. Godspeed!” — Twell Regor

After a long hiatus (4 months): back to working on art and planning art shows. We’ll see what the future holds. In the meantime, I’m writing a philosophy book, going on runs, working on neuroscience and symbolic logic, and just got some equipment to play badminton and tennis. Cannot wait to start the photography for my art gallery.

Been inspired by #archivefashion, #surrealism with a militantly practical form, and from #streetwear to #highfashion — my graphic design god is still #paulrand

Everything down the line is gonna be crazy worth looking forward to. At very least, so I have this massive portfolio I can take into any industry I want when I’m 30-40. Don’t forgot to invest in your talents, it’s never too late! taken in Cleveland, Ohio by @twell.regor

At 14, I was living in a hotel. Down bad at the time. The silver lining was that I had a keyboard and I taught myself piano. 10 years later, 2 different projects under two different personas—recognized by search engines. A bunch of publications who gave me the time of day. My face plastered in the search results. So fucking cool to me. Growing up around 16-19 I was blessed to have so many artistic and intellectual friends and I never thought I’d reach any level at all. Not a stream. Not a Google search. Just nothing. But hey look at me now. I can tell people to google me now. Pretty neat. taken in The Internet by @twell.regor

Archive: Twell Regor Fashion Show 2018 (Part Two)

After spending a year planning my first show, I came away with even more ideas for clothing and events but felt confined by my surroundings. My friends thought I was reckless, even “crazy,” yet I joined the military to travel, see new places, and experience more of the world before returning to my work. That show took place on my eighteenth birthday. I am twenty-four now, and although I lost momentum and have to rebuild from scratch, that time broadened my perspective, helped me grow in writing, film, photography, fashion, and design, and ultimately led me to fall in love with academia and music the most. Quality has always mattered more than relevance because I’d die happy wearing my own clothes in silence. I’ve been designing pieces for my closet since 13 so to me it’s just a normal thing, not a business venture.

However, my next event, Fission Bleu, is coming in 2027, and everything I have been developing will finally be visible.

As for labels, I have never been sure what to call myself. Artist, designer, musician, writer—none feel complete, and all feel limiting. Curiosity is the only constant. Passion projects keep life meaningful, and I follow them wherever they lead.

Archive: Twell Regor Fashion Show 2018 (Part One)

This fashion show was the concept premiere for my brand. I knew at the time I didn’t want to do steady S/S and F/W. I just had the idea. I had some designs and drawings I made so I screen printed them with friends and I put together a show. We packed the venue and people took it more seriously than I had anticipated so due to demand I released some mystery boxes that contained samples (test pieces) and those sold out. I also released a “She Blushes” hoodie that I made in collaboration with a friend and those sold out. But I knew at the time I didn’t have the experience or resources to start a brand. I also was 18 so I didn’t know if I truly wanted to be an artist. I’m still unsure on that part cause my biggest passion is philosophy. However, I do love fashion, music, and graphic design so this year I decided to give it another go and have a gallery circa 2027 called Fission Bleu where I can sell special edition copies of my philosophy book I’m writing, display some of art and photography, and clothes.

(Archive 2024) The Interview with the man of bloodsport Payton Talbott. I loved this interview because of how cool and down to earth of a person @paytontalbott is. One of the coolest people I’ve ever talked to and hung out with. Also extremely generous, I don’t think he let me pay for anything while I was visiting him but at the least in return I cooked him and his best friends my signature burger to which I think everyone gave rave reviews. It was over 4/20 weekend that I took the bus up to Reno, NV and stayed at Payton’s house. Over the weekend we spoke on lots of deep topics and personal topics because I wasn’t so interested in his work in MMA—more so everything that went into it and was behind it. You can read everything that him and I thought was okay to publish on my website in the print section. Link in bio. Note: a lot of conversations I wish I recorded and a lot I wish I could’ve said because I’ve never met someone I felt I had things in common with but was also inspired by—it wasn’t his rising success that inspired me but how unchanging he was during it. He’s motivated by passion and expression not fame or money which is refreshing in a person saturated by all that comes with being a public figure in any industry. I was excited to share as much as possible about what I saw and heard but some things I just felt should stay with him and his privacy. Anyways. There’s a formal and informal (gonzo) part of the interview all in one read. I’ve been looking for my next interview but it’s hard to beat this man in terms of being an interesting person. Biggest thing that threw me off is how intelligent and multitalented he is. He’s not just a fighter, he’s much more than that. I hope in the future he’s seen for all of that and not pigeonholed into MMA because for one thing he’s musically inclined and you can go find his music on the interwebs.

Note on the slides: it’s in chronological order from me doing research watching one of his fights at my friend @sweetermemory house to us going to a disco to me writing the interview at my desk once I was back home. taken in Reno, Nevada by @twell.regor

(Archive 2021) Interview No. One — I did with Lazaro Rodriguez, better known as Bruteman. He was a kind of mentor (by mentor I mean I’d annoy him with as many questions as I had cause I was so passionate and eager and I’ve always enjoyed his work & he was always kind enough to respond thoughtfully) to me growing up as a teenager and being interested in art so him giving me 3-4 hours of conversation in his apartment was a luxury for me. Really enjoyed picking his brain. You can read the interview on my website in the “Print” section. Link in bio. taken in Hollywood by @twell.regor
