Aliens has always been my favorite film in the entire Alien franchise. It’s basically everything I love crammed into one movie: ’80s sci-fi, atmosphere, ridiculous hardware, Colonial Marines, Xenomorphs, and that perfect mix of horror and action.

And if you’ve only ever seen the theatrical cut, do yourself a massive favor and watch the Special Edition.

I will NEVER understand why they cut the sentry gun sequence from the theatrical release 😮‍💨 like wtf?

Besides just being fucking badass, that whole sequence actually tells you something important about the Xenomorphs. They keep throwing themselves at the guns, realize something is absolutely shredding them, and eventually back off without knowing the guns are almost out of ammunition. Then later... when everyone thinks they’ve bought themselves some breathing room, the Xenos find another way in.

They’re not just monsters running blindly toward people. They're smart, clever little bastards, and adapt.

That makes the moment when everyone realizes they’re coming through the ceiling so much better, because now there’s an actual progression to it. As a kid I even remembered the sentry guns, then years later watched the theatrical version and thought, “Wait… where the hell did the guns go?” Eventually I discovered the Special Edition and there they were 😂

So naturally, I had to commit a little cinematic sacrilege and give Hudson one additional piece of Colonial Marine equipment:

Headphones.

Dropship shaking violently on the way down to LV-426, everybody preparing for combat…and Hudson is just kicked back listening to Bending Grid.

Because pulse rifles, tactical nukes and sharp sticks are great and all…

…but you also need badass music. 😎

Rest in peace Kavinsky. The night will never sound the same.

Your music helped shape the sound and visual world that inspired an entire generation of electronic artists, myself included.

Thank you for the music Vincent. Your Nightcall will keep echoing long after you disappear into the fog.

With love,
Bending Grid

YouTube was all about connection with the audiovisual experience of Bending Grid in 2025.

You spent over 17,000 hours with my music videos, watched 🔥Hypersleep rise to the top with @teyaflow , and helped bring new releases, like my collab with @powerrobmusic in the music video for "Shane", to life in ways I never expected.

Every bit of growth came from you choosing to press play, to share my songs, and to keep coming back, and it genuinely amazes me.

Thank you for enjoying my YouTube videos, for making it part of your daily life, and for being a part of THE GRID 😎🤘

These Wrapped numbers aren’t mine.... they’re ours.
The biggest win this year wasn’t streams, it was our connection through music 👈

Every bit of growth came from you choosing to listen, to save, and to share my songs, and it still 🤯 amazes me.

Thank you for enjoying my music, letting it become part of your daily life, and for being a part of THE GRID.

Bending Grid just had the absolute pleasure of meeting James, the mastermind behind #Midnight City Television (MCTV), down at the #MCTV studios in #Daytona Beach, Florida. The spot is buzzing with retro-futuristic energy; think #synthwave , #neon dreams, and a serious love for all things #nostalgic .

James is the real deal; visionary, passionate, and building something truly unique in the #indie #media space. From #music videos and indie #films to original series and #retro playlists, MCTV is a full-on time machine for anyone who grew up loving the #80s / #90s #aesthetic or just wants to #escape into something beautifully different.

If you haven’t already, go download the MCTV app on #Roku , #Google Play, or the #App Store, and dive headfirst into the neon-drenched world he’s curated. It’s free, it’s global, and it’s built for people who vibe with that #underground , analog-meets-digital magic.

So stoked to connect and can’t wait to see what comes next working with James and the MCTV crew. Stay tuned 🎹 🎬 📼 taken in Daytona Beach, Florida by @twistedgridstudio

What an incredible year! 🙏 Thanks to all of you, 2024 has been the most exciting year as an artist. Reflecting on the journey, I’m filled with gratitude for the opportunities to create and connect through music. Here are some highlights:

✨ Spotify: I saw massive growth on this platform. I started promoting music there, unlike the previous year.

✨ YouTube: 306k views (+30%), 11.1k watch hours (+67%), and a leap from 701 subscribers to 4,449. I’m also thrilled that 4% of that watch time came from my music shared on other channels! Thank you for sharing!

✨ Top Album: My double album PARALLAX led the charge across platforms, with “Hypersleep” as the most-streamed track—except on YouTube, where a long-held fan favorite “Love Arcade” defended the top spot.

✨ BBC Radio Airplay: Hearing "Hypersleep" and "Shane" on BBC Radio was surreal and so encouraging.

✨ Fans' Wrapped: To the 197 of you who have me in your top 10, the 102 who placed me in your top 5, and the 21 fans who made me your #1 artist 🥹—THANK YOU! ❤️ Your support inspires me every day.

Collaborating with so many talented artists this year has been a dream come true, and I’m grateful for their creativity and friendship. From vocalists to producers, each partnership has enriched my music in ways I could only imagine.

To celebrate, I’ve launched Bending Grid Radio, a 24/7 YouTube livestream! This marks a new way for me to share my music and my favorite teacks by other artists with y'all.

Looking ahead, I’m thrilled to announce that PARALLAX will SOON be available in physical formats—CD, cassette, and vinyl 🤩—through RetroSynth Records. Pre-orders are set to open in either January or February on my Bandcamp page, so keep an eye out.

None of this would be possible without YOU—every stream, share, comment, and like makes this journey worthwhile. Thank you for letting my music be part of your lives. Here’s to an even brighter 2025! 💿🎶💖

Thrilled to announce that our music has been selected for the BBC's Orbit pilot program! This innovative platform is all about discovering fresh, cutting-edge sounds, connecting new audiences to artists they might not have found otherwise. Being part of this three-month project gives us an incredible opportunity to expand our reach, gain recognition, and showcase our work alongside other emerging talent.

Huge congrats to Power Rob and RetroSynth for this milestone, and big thanks to the BBC for believing in our music! Let’s see where this journey takes us. 🌌🎶

Simply stunned!

A huge congratulations to @teyaflow and @zefear_official for working together with me on this track, which was hand selected for airplay on the BBC! Hypersleep wouldn't be where it is without our talent and creativity infused together into this gem.

🥂Cheers! If I were there with you two, I'd buy the first round of drinks to celebrate 🥳

I have no idea if the hosts will see this, but a HUGE thanks from us! Owe you a pint 😉
