Who is guilty of thinking one or all of those thoughts?
Let’s face it, constant comparison and delayed gratification are part of the process.

As Doctors, we sacrifice hours…years…to get to a point when we “feel” that it’s all worth it. Not to mention the admission process is a constant reminder of how you stack up against ‘the rest’.

But is it costing us from being “happy” with where we are and tying our fulfillment to the next milestone?

It wasn’t until we graduated and there were NO MORE MILESTONES, when we realized how much it was engrained in us that our happiness was based on the next thing.

We’re here to tell you…it’s not the milestone that brings true, sustained happiness. We have to flip the script and choose to find pockets of happiness exactly where we are, every step of the way.

You didn’t have to save our souls, but you did and we won’t forget it 🤍 👶🏽🙏🏽 Three souls(You + God + Me) becoming four (🤰🏽)

At the start of this year, we sat down and prayed, asking God for a few things. One thing we knew for sure—was to build our family.

And now… ✨ Our little blessing is on the way— God’s promise never wavers and is always on time 🙌🏽

Clearly, if you can’t tell, we’re figuring it out as we go 🤣but excited, nervous, and beyond grateful for this next chapter!

Wait yall…
from watching his every breath, to watching him walk
we blinked and ended up here 🥺👣🤎

One day we may forget what these moments felt like.
these feet. this little bubs. this season.
Now, forever remembered 🤍

Instead of paper, we chose to use fabric to add a bit of texture. That paired with a frame, baby-safe paint, and a Saturday afternoon = forever our favorite little feet 🦶🏽

We really thought we were gonna stay consistent 🤣
life said “y’all got a newborn, be serious” 🙃

so yeah... it became about getting through the day.
everything got quieter and heavier
but somehow fuller and better to

Truthfully, less keeping up, less working out, less date nights
More survival, more early mornings, more grace, and more showing up for this little human

But we’re finding our rhythm again
as doctors both working
as a dad leading a new family
as a mom navigating being OK with no ‘snap back’
& as partners realistically missing some of our freedom

Welcome back to us 🤎

Sunday Rounds- Week 14 🤎
He’s in his feet-up era…
warming up for the big roll we think is coming any day now

But the best thing: he found his reflection & therefore, made a new best friend. And he thinks he’s pretty cool? 🤣

• Almost-rolling still counts
• Grabbing is its own milestone
• He’s adjusting every week… and we’re catching up

Fun fact: I’ve been bald since I was 23 (11 years strong 🧑🏾‍🦲).
Tried all the supplements… even considered a trip to Turkey for a hair transplant — still might go, and if I do… mind your business 😂✈️

Sunday Rounds- Week 12 🤎
Drool and bubbles everywhere — his newest form of communication.
 And suddenly he’s paying attention longer… really looking at his toys like there’s something new to understand.

But the headline of the week? His first flight. Four flights, one hotel stay — and he handled it all with so much ease. He even slept the whole way back.

Truths from this week:
• Drool = progress (his senses are waking up and he’s learning his own mouth).
• It’s okay to be nervous and still do the thing anyway.
• Babies are better travelers than we give them credit for.
• You’re allowed to be proud of the little things — they matter.

He talks now…
…all day
talking to us, talking to himself but mostly to the ceiling fan

The hands? They are finding their way home & splashing in the bath like he’s surprised every single time

• Finding his voice feels like we’re actually meeting him
• Hand in his mouth, isn’t chaos, hunger nor teething , it’s his discovery
• Bath time went from routine to full sensory joy 💫
