We have an important update on our temporary closure.

After the initial flooding in July, several more storms caused water to re-enter areas already being assessed. Before rebuilding could begin, we needed to be confident that the risk of further water intrusion had been addressed.

We’ve now received confirmation that major repair and restoration work can move forward. The work is expected to be completed in December, with reopening planned for early 2027.

It’s later than our original estimate, but it’s a welcome step forward. Thank you for sticking with us, we can’t wait to welcome you back!

Until then, science doesn’t stop. Learn more or support our recovery at www.twose.ca/donate. by @twosedm

📚 Let Stories Soar!

This week, the Science Centre's Education team celebrated READ IN Week 2026, bringing stories, science and imagination together! 💜

📖 Pictured here is Bernadette at Rutherford School, where she read ‘What If?’ by Randall Munroe to a combined Grade 4 and 5 class, sparking imaginative questions and encouraging students to think like scientists.

🤖 Meanwhile, at Guthrie School in Sturgeon County, Tara shared ‘How to Code a Sandcastle’ by Josh Funk with a Grade 3 class that's part of the Science Centre's Science School program, setting the stage for their robotics and coding adventures this year!

From asking the unexpected to thinking like a coder, these young listeners showed us just how far a good story can take you!

Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, we honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, survivors who carry the weight of their experiences, and the families and communities impacted.

Every child matters. 🧡

Reconciliation is ongoing, and the work must continue through listening, learning, reflecting and taking meaningful action.
