🇺🇸 Our nation's history reminds us that good government depends on public trust.

Before Texas became the 28th state, the Comptroller's office was established to manage the fiscal affairs of a young republic. Today, we continue that mission through transparency and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. by @txcomptroller

Today, many Christians observe the Feast of St. Matthew, Apostle, Evangelist, and Martyr. Before he was called to be a disciple, Matthew worked as a tax collector, and he is recognized by many as the patron saint of accountants, bankers and tax collectors.

To our team and to everyone across Texas who works in accounting, finance or tax administration: thank you for your commitment to accuracy, accountability, and service. by @txcomptroller
