.
Last year on my birthday I got the horrible news that we were nearing the time for my Dad to enter his next journey.
.
My day was filled with tears, anxiety and tremendous sadness.
.
This year has been WILD. But like anything we keep going even when we don’t know what that looks like ahead of time.
.
I was absolutely spoiled with love by my family and friends today. I am a very blessed woman. My lesson to myself for this year was understanding that grief is a wild ride. Just let it steer the wheel and eventually you come up for air.
.
I am the luckiest woman in the world surrounded by the best humans on planet earth. Thank you all for being shiny lights!!!
.
But also omg forty. one. I should probably get some kind of advent calendar now where I get to eat a piece of chocolate every time a new wrinkle pops up.

42ā˜€ļø

Pretty wild to be ā€œinā€ my 40s. The last 12 months was a wild ride. I’d love to make a reel of the highlights of my perfect family, my dreamy life and all the smiles but today I’m opting for a real one instead.

The truth is I’ve been going through some of the scariest things medically that I can even remember. And that’s saying something when you look at my stat sheet.

The last few years I have had concerning symptoms, unexplained symptoms and very very painful symptoms. I was told it was anxiety. I was told to get more sleep. I was told to lose weight. ā€œYou have health anxiety, your labs are great. There’s nothing wrong with youā€ repeatedly gaslit by medical professionals.

Flash forward to 4 months ago and I entered the most excruciating pain flair up I have EVER experienced in my life. A trip to the ER in June sent me on a journey to not only find answers but find a doctor who SEES me. And I did just that. She took one look at me and the flood gates opened for testing, exams and scans. In just 4 weeks I have an answer to a huge source of pain. I am far from done and in some ways my journey has just begun. I will have surgery soon, I have specialist appointments scattered over the next 8 weeks to continue to put the puzzle together.

This season has made me cry, it has made me scared. Some days I can barely get through the day. And that’s the real truth. I am, for a lack of a better term, feeling sick right now.

It’s very hard for me to feel weak. To not be able to do it all. Also a hard truth.

I’m counting my birthday blessings. I have the best family and the best village of people beside me. So even in all of these storms there is a constant unrelenting bright light everywhere I look and that’s the best birthday gift of all. by @type1superstar

Something we don’t talk about with youth sports enough. We post the highlights, the trips, the travel team hypes, the trainings. But what we don’t talk about enough is what transpires from brutal travel weekends, sacrificing so much, all of the things, really, is the Family we build along the way
.
Throughout the years of Lucian’s passion for hoops without even really seeing happen in real time we built a full on family. Us parents behind the scenes frequently airing frustration, shrieking at triumphs and big games, feeling broke after another tournament. But woven inbetween that is the relief when we spot a familiar face in an unfamiliar gym, the mom who thought to bring extra snacks knowing little siblings won’t last 3 games in one day, the Dad that always carries extra cash for moms like me who literally never remember there’s a cash only admission fee. We become family.
.
Recently a part of our FAMILY lost their Boy and today with hundreds of people in our community in attendance we had the honor to be a part of Hunter Faught’s Celebration of Life. The best big brother, incredible fighter and one heck of a son and human being.
.
When a Mom and Dad in our tight-knit community lose a child we all grieve.
.

Summer 2026šŸ’«
.
They say it takes bravery to start a business. For me the truest bravery I have faced as an entrepreneur is finally saying no. Which is funny because 6 years ago I would not have agreed with that. I said yes. Over and over and over again and stood by that mentality. While I felt like I had finally connected with that fierce, badass, relentless woman I knew was always inside of me there was indeed a hefty price which left me lost again. Go figure🫠
.
This summer was a massive pivot. For the first time in 21 years Brent and I spent substantial time apart. The very day my company closed is the same day Brent left for the biggest project under his company-4 hours away from home.
.
Scared shitless of solo parenting and truly being a stay at home mom…It led me to myself again.
.
So much time with my girls. Lake days with my sister and mom that became routine. Daily walks with my girls and our fur babies. Watching my baby brother get married. Yard work that resulted in me actually keeping plants alive. Connecting with neighbors and developing friendships that I simply didn’t have the capacity for before. Watching my son become a young adult spending weeks at a time at the Chelan addition shadowing Brent.
.
I am so grateful to have been able to stop the chaos and step back enough to redevelop routines, live in the actual moment and watch these fleeting moments of my children’s lives in real time.
.
Zero regrets and these are the best times that I can even remember.

That’s a wrap on Hood to Coast. What a crazy experience and I wasn’t even the one runningšŸ˜†
.
Brent killed it, per usual. His team somehow ran 196 miles in less than 26 hours.

šŸ’„ @brentmiller57 is teaming up with @justinbritt68 for the Hood to Coast relay race on August 28th! It’s the largest relay race globally🤯 The relay is 196 miles. Roughly 1,000 teams get to participate every yearšŸ‘šŸ» This is a rare opportunity and their team of 8 needs help fundraising for cancer research! There’s nothing better than running for a cause and we are so excited to be a part of it!
.
No donation amount is too small. Help Brent, Justin and the team, The Lost Soles, hit their goal!

Savvy Girl finished Pre K today!
.
A year ago we decided to do an additional year of pre K. It was the best decision we ever made. Nothing is more important than setting kids up for success and she just wasn’t ready. It took a lot of sacrifice and the most hilarious daily driving schedule but today reminds me what it’s all for.
.
She can count into the 100s, speak Spanish words, she knows the name of shapes I didn’t even know existed. She has an open mind about how to work through her day, her sensory challenges that were so predominant last year are healed in so many ways. She became a little leader in her class, developed friendships and truly became a shooting star.
.
I share this because there’s such a stigma about an extra year of preschool/starting kindergarten later and I just want other families to know-follow your gut, you’re not wrong.
.
Happy graduation day to our Savvy Girl!!!! You are READY now!!! by @type1superstar

After 6 years that’s a wrap
.
6 years ago I took an $800 unemployment check, started a business and went to work with a baby literally on my hip during Covid.
.
My company saw almost immediate success. My first summer I completed 37 cleans by myself, with a baby and two other young kids at home.
.
I put in work weeks exceeding 70 hours. My close friends and family chipped in with childcare and cleaning with me often times refusing payment in exchange. They all had an unwavering belief in me. By year two I was managing 27 short term rentals and employing a team of 14. It was life changing. Year 3 I retired my husband from his 9-5 so he could pursue his dreams.
.
This dream that became a reality is something I will hold very dear to my heart the rest of my life. It afforded a better life for my family for so long. It paid for insulin, it paid for my medical care, it paid for travel basketball, it paid for cheer, it paid for preschool, it paid for trips. But it came at a price. Sacrificing every holidays, every weekend, every summer and ultimately my mental well being.
.
There are simply so many people to thank. I will do my best to make sure I thank each and every one of you who were a part in the business I built. But I have to shout out to Lorraine, Jami, Tiffany and Lauren. Words cannot express my gratitude for your hard and relentless work.
.
A large focus of my company’s mission was ā€Family Firstā€. Almost every employee I’ve ever had is a mother. Time with family and being there when it matters most was always my priority. With that said I’m taking my own mission statement to heart and putting my family first. HH Co is closing its doors on May 17th
.
To my husband Brent, to my son Lucian, and to my two daughters Lilia and Savannah. Thank you. You all made the biggest sacrifice and now it’s my turn to repay you by being home.
.
Excited for whats next, whatever that may be.
