Tzadeka and the murder hornettes LIVE at the yardbird suite is up on the streams. I also have vinyl for sale.

Gonna be real (capitalism is. Violent) 📣
We don’t talk enough about how it hurts to renegotiate and heresy our values
By being a faithful subject to the monopolization of our souls creativity
And choke. And swallow. The inherent contradiction. Because we will not become gatekeepers but we are all paying prices by @tzadekavision

I’ll always sing to the sunflowers on your behalf

hear you spit rhymes through walls and shake the ceilings with your laugh

We won’t wait for loved ones to pass before we say their names out loud

So I tell the wind your worth and send a love letter to the clouds

Get tickets to Connections//Collisions Cabaret, October 8+9 at Mile Zero Dance! One of the featured artists performing at the Cabaret is Tzadeka.

October 8+9
7:30 PM
$25/$20 MZD Members
Mile Zero Dance | 9931 78 Ave

Tzadeka will present FUTURES IN PROCESS
Futures in Process embodies the idea that the future is not an endpoint, it’s an unfolding process, happening right now. Through poetic reflections on time and space, travelling improvised loop-pedal landscapes, Futures in Process acts as a sort of time-machine transport to possible futures, through a sonic shared-present-moment.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Tzadeka (TZA-deka) is Maigan van der Giessen, an Edmonton based emcee who has been pushing the boundaries since putting out her first tracks with hip hop collective Eshod ibn Wyza (2003). Her creative practice includes music, poetry, ritual-performance, painting and playwriting, in their various experimental forms. She’s evolved into an interdisciplinary artist whose passion for uplifting Edmonton’s local scene (especially our fem-cees), and grassroots community work, is intrinsically connected to her artistic voice as Tzadeka. Her current practice is centered on loop-pedal improvisations, magic-as-method, and world-building through word and sound.

Connections//Collisions is curated and hosted by Indigenous performer / playwright Josh Languedoc.
