The 2027 Greek ferry schedules aren’t out yet, and you’re already planning your island hopping trip in Greece? Don’t panic, this is how I do it πŸ‘‡
Most schedules come out between December and February. Until then, check openseas.gr to see which ferries sailed this year, with the exact dates, times and companies.

Don’t book non-refundable hotels yet. And once a good ferry shows up, just book it: most companies let you cancel for free up to 14 days before.

Full ferry guide in my Ultimate Tourist Guide to Greece!

Is Athens worth it in December? Yes!! Around 15 degrees, only about six rainy days a month, free entry to the sites on two Sundays a month, Christmas markets and decorations, and a city that never goes quiet. And even a lake you can swim in all year round on a sunny day. Just don't plan beach days or island hopping.

Everything you need to know about Athens is in my Athens guide. Comment β€œATHENS GUIDE” for the link to the page where you can grab it. Or book a call and I'll help you plan.

Sharing what we order in a Greek restaurant to teach you to look beyond the Greek salad, moussaka and gyros (although they’re delicious πŸ˜‰).

Here’s another table! And today is a special with a lot of food typical to the Greek island of Corfu! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·

Greek food is often about sharing. When you order in a tsipouradiko, mezedopoleio, or ouzeri, you’re not ordering a plate for yourself. You’re tasting variety. The plates are designed for sampling. So you try five things instead of a three course meal featuring one massive moussaka, gyros or souvlaki accompanied by a Greek salad.

This series β€œwhat are we eating in Greece today?” Is designed to show you the variety of the menus of restaurants all over Greece. πŸ’– And today, my Greek Australian friends @dolphingirlbyron @greekislandsummers and @angelina.aphrodite are starring in and leading the episode! πŸ™πŸ™

Did you know Corfu basically has its own FREE natural spa? πŸ§–πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸŒΏ

On the north-west coast of Corfu, at Arillas and until Sidari, beaches are backed by these huge natural clay cliffs. And yes, people actually use the clay as a body mask. I’ve been coming to this part of Corfu for years and it’s still such a fun little local beach ritual.

Take a little of the loose clay, mix it with some seawater until it turns into a muddy paste and cover your arms, legs or basically your entire body πŸ˜‚. Then let it dry in the sun until you start looking slightly prehistoric, before jumping into the Ionian Sea to wash it all off.

And there is actually some logic behind it. Clay is naturally very absorbent and certain types can help absorb excess oil from the skin. Which is why clay has been used in skincare for such a long time. Afterwards, your skin can feel incredibly soft and smooth.

Natural spa treatment, Greek beach and a swim afterwards. Honestly, I’ll take this over a fancy spa room any day. πŸ˜‚

And there’s many other beaches all over Greece where you can try this such as Xi on Kefalonia.

πŸ“ Arillas, Corfu, Greece πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·

And YES. Little spots and experiences like this are exactly what I collect in my Corfu Travel Guide, together with beaches, villages, restaurants, road trips, activities and all my other Corfu tips after 40+ visits to the island. πŸ’™

Comment CORFU GUIDE and receive the link to the page where you can grab the ebook!

Would you try the Corfu clay spa? πŸ‘€

My friend opened a brunch spot in Corfu and obviously I had to be go try it πŸ₯ΉπŸ’–

Meet Juno’s Table @junocorfu , the newest breakfast, brunch & coffee spot right in the center of Corfu Town.

And yes, I might be slightly biased because Jessica is my friend πŸ˜‚ BUT I can genuinely say: it looks beautiful, the food was super tasty (keep me away from the French brioche!!) and I was especially impressed by the coffee. Strong, but not too strong. Exactly how I like it β˜•οΈ

What makes it even better is Jessica herself. She is probably one of the most hospitable people you’ll ever meet and somehow speaks about five languages πŸ˜‚ So there’s a decent chance she’ll even be able to welcome you or take your order in your own language.

There’s only indoor seating in summer bc it’s too hot on the sidewalk, but honestly, with the Corfu heat right now, air-conditioning is a BIG plus. September onwards? Possible to sit outdoors.

And I’m so happy to see that people are already finding their way here. So if you’re in Corfu Town, please go give Juno’s Table a try πŸ’–

This one is 100% going into the food & drinks chapter of my Corfu Travel Guide next year.

The current guide is already 177 pages full of my favorite restaurants, beaches, things to do, practical tips, discount codes and basically everything I know after 40+ trips to Corfu πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·

Comment CORFU GUIDE and I’ll send you the link to the page where you dan grab the guide ✨

✨ The cake that finds what’s lost. Today, Greece celebrates Saint Fanourios (Agios Fanourios) β€” the patron saint of lost things. From keys to peace of mind, or even love, locals bake a traditional 9-ingredient cake called Fanouropita and bring it to the church to be blessed. Once shared, your wish or lost item is said to be revealed. Have you ever tried it? πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·πŸ°#SaintFanourios #Corfu #greektraditions #greekislands taken in Corfu, Kerkira, Greece by @tzatchickie

Mini guide to ASSOS village Kefalonia πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·πŸοΈ

Assos is chaos during the summer afternoons. Beach packed, sunbeds €25 per set, parking a nightmare. But stay overnight? Completely different village.

So here is my guide to actually enjoying it:

🏠Where to stay
Chromata Villas @chromataassosvillas (invited). Private plunge pools, huge suite villas, breakfast included. It’s tucked behind the main square, first side street β€” means you’re away from the noise even when the beach is rammed. Perfect if the bay gets too crowded.

🍽️Eating
Savoro for sunset dinner with a view.

Kantina if you want simple, honest grilling.

But honestly, Rotsis family bakery is where I’d start my mornings. Coffee is incredible, pastries are even better, both sweet and savoury.

πŸ₯ΎπŸ°The hike
Castle up the hill, thirty minutes, paved but steep, bring water and sunscreen (I was sweating at sunset in August). Down takes fifteen to twenty. Beautiful sunset spot but it’s longer than it looks.

πŸ“ΈPhoto spots
Best overview of Assos is either from the hike up to the castle or from the right side of the beach (when facing water) when walking up the alleys
The viral staircase is located exactly opposite, on the left side on the side of the pink house

🚀Activities
Take a boat tour or rent a boat to see beaches like Myrtos and Fteri

πŸ…ΏοΈReal talk
Parking is tight when it gets busy. Park in the biggest area or risk a fine or worse, your plates taken away.

πŸ›ŒWhy stay the night?
Morning until 11am, this place is quiet and beautiful. Same at night once everyone leaves. You get Assos without the crush. Plus boat rentals here, sunset cruises, snorkelling trips round the bay to Myrtos and Fteri.
