You might know Professor Ziegler as a chem professor, but this month, he’s UA’s very own MAD SCIENTIST. (Insert thunder sound effect.) Stay tuned for more spooky experiments. by @uakronbcas

Not your typical college visit! On Friday, Oct. 9, high school students took their seats in the jury box during a mock trial at The University of Akron School of Law!

As part of our Explore BCAS: Pre-Law Showcase, prospective students and their families experienced law in action, connected with faculty and current students, and discovered how different undergraduate majors can lead to law school. by @uakronbcas

She goes Above and Beyond! Congratulations to Biology’s Lauren Anderson, recipient of the September BCAS Above and Beyond Award! 💙💛

If you’ve stopped by the Department of Biology lately, there’s a good chance Lauren Anderson has helped you out!

Since joining UA in January, Lauren has become a go-to resource for students, faculty and staff, whether she’s answering questions, solving problems, connecting someone with the right resource or finding a new way to showcase all the great things happening in Biology.

Congratulations, Lauren, and thank you for all you do for our BCAS community! 💙💛 by @uakronbcas

🎉 Congratulations to our September Student of the Month, Sophia Abukamail!

Sophia, a graduate student in Music Voice Performance, was recognized for the talent, leadership and generosity she brings to The University of Akron’s choral community.

From serving as a section leader for UA Choirs and helping lead Choral Studies to teaching musicianship lessons and mentoring undergraduate conducting students, Sophia is committed not only to her own growth as a musician, but also to helping those around her succeed.

Her nominator, Dr. T.J. Harper, assistant professor of practice and director of Choral Studies, describes Sophia as “dependable, collaborative, and genuinely invested in the success of others.”

👏 Congratulations, Sophia! We’re proud to celebrate you!
