TEAM AIR WAS POWERFUL!

What a FUN way to start the morning! Walking together at the Zoo, surrounded by amazing animals, wonderful people, and so much heart.

Did you know kids get arthritis, too?! 💜 Childhood arthritis is real, and raising awareness and supporting the children and families facing this disease matters!

A HUGE thank-you to Dr. Macaraeg for your incredible dedication, compassion, and support for our pediatric patients living with arthritis. We are beyond lucky to have you leading this fight and making a difference in the lives of so many children and their families.

And BIG thanks to everyone who joined Team AIR for today’s walk. Your support, energy, and heart made this morning extra special. So many wonderful moments, connections, and reasons to celebrate what we can accomplish together.

Each team gets creative, sells a product to U of A students, and donates the proceeds to Steele — turning a little friendly competition into a BIG impact for children’s health.

We were thrilled to be back as a guest judge this year and cheer on these future marketing leaders!

✨ Looking back. Listening. Dreaming BIG.

The Department of Pediatrics faculty retreat was all about where we’ve been, where we are today, and—most importantly—where we’re going next. 💙

We dug into our history and the people who helped build this department, listened to what our faculty and staff shared about their why, and spent the day imagining what the next 3–5 years could look like.

From Clinical Care + Education + Research to wellness, collaboration, communication and new ideas. There was plenty of conversation, creativity and dreaming happening around the room. 💡🩺🔬📚

One thing was clear: our people are our greatest strength.

We have an incredible history. We have an incredible team. And now, our next chapter is ours to write. ✨

🌟 VOLUNTEER/DONOR SPOTLIGHT: JIMM KRAUSMAN 🌟

So excited to share the spotlight on Jimm Krausman.

Jimm has worn A LOT of hats! 🎩
Today we are celebrating his incredible dedication to the Arizona Elks and our community.

His titles include Past Exalted Ruler (twice!), Past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler, Past State Vice President, Former First Gentleman, former AEMP Executive Director, AEMP Board Member & Treasurer, SCRC Advocacy Board Member ……and his favorite/current title: Sue’s Arm Candy! ❤️

💙 Why did you join the Elks?
“My father-in-law told me I was going to be an Elk. He said, ‘Sign here and don’t give me any crap.’” 😂

But Jimm stayed because he discovered something much deeper: “The benevolent nature of the order feeds my soul.”

Jimm joined the Elks in March 1982, and by that December, he knew this was something special. He and his wife, Sue, participated in charitable events that made Christmas a little brighter for families, children and Veterans across Arizona.

One moment that has stayed with him was taking local children in need shopping for new clothes. Hearing a child say, “I never had new jeans before,” made a lasting impact.

There were also gifts purchased and wrapped for Veterans at the Arizona State Veterans Home — simple things many of us take for granted, given with gratitude to those who served.

💭 What inspires Jimm to give back?
His faith in Christ and His teachings.

💬 Three words that describe Jimm:
Benevolent. Humorous. Happy.

🌙 A few fun facts about Jimm:
❤️ Favorite sound: His wife Sue’s giggle. “Her smile is nice, but that laugh makes my heart sing!”
🦉 Night or day? Both! “Hoot with the owls, soar with the eagles — it’s all good.”
🐰 Favorite holiday: Easter
🍔 Favorite food: A great burger
🎶 Favorite music: ALL of it! From classical to heavy metal, country to jazz — Jimm says his life is a musical and he couldn’t pick just one song or style!

Jimm, we are incredibly grateful for you — your years of service, your generosity, your humor, your heart and everything you do for our community. 💙

We are so lucky to have you in our lives.

💙 Celebrating 10 Years of Hope and Impact
Ten years ago, a vision took shape: children deserved answers, and families deserved hope.

Today, we celebrate 10 years of the Children’s Postinfectious Autoimmune Encephalopathy (CPAE) Center of Excellence and the extraordinary community that has helped make its work possible.

Because of dedicated physicians and researchers, courageous families, generous donors, philanthropic partners and advocates, the Center has served more than 500 patients and families, advanced research, trained healthcare professionals and helped extend specialized knowledge to other institutions around the world.

A special thank you to the PACE Foundation, a partner in this mission from the very beginning. PACE’s commitment to advocacy, education and research helped bring the vision for access to expert treatment to life and continues to help expand specialized care, advance research and provide education for families and physicians.

Every clinic visit represents a child.
Every discovery represents hope.
Every breakthrough brings us closer to answers.

To the families who have trusted us, the teams who have dedicated themselves to this work, and the partners and donors who have believed in this mission: thank you for helping change what is possible for children and families.
