It’s officially October! Here’s what’s happening this month 👆

This is the UBCO October Ten. Try to do as many of these as you can! Have any questions about any of these? Be sure to check the UBC Okanagan Events Calendar or send us a message. 💬

Get involved and meet new people this month with some of our favourite events!

Whether you’re hiking with Rec, Drawing by Night with @fccs.ubco, browsing opportunities at the Volunteer Fair, or living your best life at Recess Revival, these are all events we know, love, and would recommend attending this month.

Show your school spirit this month both on Nonis Field and in the Furnace! The Heat basketball teams are back with their home openers on October 30. Not a bad way to set the tone for the weekend, if you ask us. 🔥💙🏀

Exam Jam is the number one way to get prepped for midterms. If you’re a first or second year student, we definitely recommend attending this one. Plus, you can enter to win a tablet and an Owala water bottle. 👀

The Career Exploration Series is exactly what it sounds like: Come out to these events throughout the year to meet people who work in your dream field. Learn about actual careers and positions that could be in your future, and ask questions that will help determine your career path.

Thinking about grad school? There are also a couple of info sessions to help you with the application process this month. Go check them out!

Go Global applications open on October 5! There are TONS of Q&A sessions happening throughout the month. If you want to go on exchange next year, this is the BEST way to get all the info you need.

Global Education Week is back this month! 🌎

If you’re interested in cooking something for Taste of Home, be sure to check out the events calendar for more info and the registration link.

Party safe! Follow @ubcoaccesswellbeing to always stay up to date on their events, tips, and resources. 💚

This is just a small preview of what’s in store in October. Be sure to check out all the upcoming events on the UBC Okanagan events calendar (and keep following us for more updates!) taken in UBC Okanagan by @ubcostudents

Pick your school supplies and get an itinerary for your perfect day in Kelowna. 👆

Remember your answers to tally up whether you got more As, Bs, or Cs!

How are you taking notes?

Pick your headphone of choice…

How do you stay organized? (This one is telling)

Pick your caffeine fix

What are you writing with?

Pick your sweater

If you got mostly As, you’re a Rutland Thrifter

Spend a day this weekend on a Rutland thrift crawl until you need a lunch break at @salsaandsaborrestaurant. Then, when you realize you should really get outside, swing by Ben Lee for a park stroll.

If you got mostly Bs, you’re the CEO of Weekend Plans.

Maximize sunshine hours by heading to Paul’s Tomb during the day and time your outing to make it back for Happy Hour at @rusticreel. Then end the day at the @bnabrewing arcade (or the bowling alley if you can snag a lane). Maybe you’ll even convince your friends to pop into @hellodarlinbar for a line dancing lesson if you’re lucky.

If you got mostly Cs, you’re the Beach + Sweet Treat Expert.

Start your day with a fall beach crawl down Abbott St. When you hit @blessdpizza, stop in for lunch and a dirty soda before getting a cone at @parlour.icecream for dessert. taken in Kelowna, British Columbia by @ubcostudents

Your major, your Sonny Angel 👼🏼

(UBC Sonny Angel sticker illustrated by UBCO alum, @kellygrace.art 💙)

You’re always up to date with online trends and celebrity moments. You probably just asked someone for their Letterboxd…

You’re forever giving book recs and quoting niche historical literature.

You can usually be found people watching and you’re a great adaptor.

You’re the “wait I can fix it” friend. A logical problem solver.

You’re constantly analyzing the behaviour of those around you and know way too much about Freud.

You’re very outdoorsy and have an overly detailed explanation for organisms.

You’re probably at the gym instead of class and you can be very competitive.

You’re great at noticing things others may not. And you love to unpack the latest pop culture moments.

You haven’t slept in days and live off of coffee. You’re also a great problem solver.

You have perfect looking notes and you’re great at making complicated things seem easy.

Networking is EVERYTHING. You’re also a natural-born leader.

You’re the organized and responsible one in your friend group. You also feel like you’ve been at the hospital more than home lately.

You know an alarming amount of animal facts. You can also be very adventurous. taken in UBCO by @ubcostudents
