We welcome those who have been a part of SCARP's Indigenous Community Planning journey to join us for an evening honouring the people, relationships, and visions that have shaped Indigenous excellence in planning across generations.

Held in the lead-up to the SCARP 75 Jubilee, this gathering will bring together alumni, students, faculty, community partners, and friends to celebrate the contributions of past and present generations - and to look toward the future of Indigenous planning, leadership, and community.

The evening will feature invited speakers, opportunities to connect, refreshments and appetizers, and special giveaways.

Please register to attend, so we can plan for catering and space! Go to scarp.ubc.ca/events by @ubcscarp

We are SO back!

The 2026-2027 SCARP season just got off to a great start with our annual PSA orientation trip in a new exciting location.

We spent some time in the forest getting to know one another through paddling, swimming, sauna-ing, games and conversation. It was a much needed moment to pause, and touch some grass before the school year begins.

With over 60 SCARPies in attendance we were so lucky to see so many new faces (and some familiar ones too). Here’s to a new year and warm welcome to our 2026-2028 cohort <3

We're excited to meet a new round of inspiring PhD applicants.

We're also excited that our application period is simpler, longer, and sooner, beginning October 5!

New processes always bring questions. Please read our PhD webpage and Q&A carefully, but we'd love to have you on September 28 to talk through any questions you still have.

Remember, you're at the stage now where you should be reaching out to SCARP faculty you think you'd like to work with as research supervisors. We'd love to hear your vision and plan. Be in touch! by @ubcscarp

(We should also say, and proudly, that naming each of our SCARP PhDs "students", "candidates", or "alumni" is quickly shifting for each - there have been some amazing doctoral defenses this summer, as our PhDs one-by-one continue their journey.)
