Please join us in congratulating Calvin Meaney, PharmD, and the Advancing Kidney Health through Optimal Medication Management (AKHOMM) team on receiving a 2026 Pinnacle Team Award for Collaboration, Innovation & Impact from the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation! 🎉 One of just three recipients recognized this year, AKHOMM is a national interprofessional nonprofit initiative that advances pharmacist-led care and comprehensive medication management for individuals living with chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome. Meaney, clinical associate professor of pharmacy practice at #UBuffalo SPPS, serves as AKHOMM's assistant director of curriculum, helping lead the initiative’s educational programming. AKHOMM was recognized for launching the first program of its kind to integrate clinical pharmacists into kidney care teams across seven sites nationwide and for developing an online interprofessional curriculum that has reached more than 2,000 learners. Reflecting the collaborative spirit of the award, AKHOMM supports health care teams in advancing guideline-directed medication therapies through education and collaboration while incorporating patient perspectives into its research efforts and advisory boards. What a memorable weekend! 💙 #UBuffalo SPPS alumni returned to campus Sept. 25-26 for a weekend of reconnecting, reminiscing and celebrating the bonds that make our community so special. The festivities began at the Pharmacy Building, where alumni reconnected with classmates, explored the building and our newly renovated Café and Commons through student-led tours and connected with current students during the Connect-a-Bull Networking Mixer. 🥼 The highlight of Reunion Weekend was the SPPS Legacy Dinner, bringing together alumni, faculty, friends and supporters to celebrate the legacy of our reunion classes and the generosity of our Gregory Society members. #UBuffalo SPPS is excited to announce a new partnership with the University of Rochester, creating new opportunities for qualified URochester students to pursue a PharmD degree at UB! 🥼 Through this collaborative academic pathway, two eligible URochester students each academic year will be assured an admissions interview for UB’s PharmD program, provided they meet all application and admissions requirements.
