🔖: 645 individual posters presented
👥: 2,300+ recorded attendees
🏆: 2 best paper award winners

This is the largest number of individual posters presented in all 26 years of this event! Perhaps just as monumentous as winning the national championship? You tell us.🤔

Also, we are so pleased to announce that our Director, Dr. Anne Donnelly, won a 30 years of service award from the Office of the Provost. She is the driving force behind our culture of research and service at UF, so please say congratulations when you see her! 🎉🥳

If you saw URSP, the University Research Scholars Program, in your admissions letter, congratulations! 🎓 This exclusive, admission-based scholarship is offered to the top 2% of UF’s admitted class through the Honors Program, giving first-year students a head start in research and academic discovery.

Regardless of your major, research offers a transformative learning experience beyond the classroom. It allows you to:
🔬 Deepen your understanding of your field
🤝 Build valuable faculty and peer connections
💡 Develop critical thinking & problem-solving skills
🚀 Strengthen your resume & career prospects

What You Need to Know

✅ Gain early exposure to research through structured courses & professional development.
✅ Earn a stipend (as outlined in your admission letter).
✅ Meet program requirements to be officially recognized as a URSP Scholar upon graduation.

First-Year Core Requirements

📚 Fall Semester:
✔️ Take Research & Creativity (HUM2930)
✔️ Attend the Fall Undergraduate Research Expo & Symposium
✔️ Join 1 URSP research seminar & workshop
✔️ Create an e-Portfolio & complete a Common Reads book
✔️ Meet with your faculty mentor

🔬 Spring Semester:
✔️ Take a CURE (Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experience) course
✔️ Attend the Spring Undergraduate Research Symposium
✔️ Continue developing your research and communication skills

Beyond the First Year

🏆 Complete at least 4 semesters of research
🏆 Present at 2 Undergraduate Research Symposiums
🏆 Attend 1 research seminar & symposium per year
🏆 Maintain & update your e-Portfolio

You’ll gain valuable experience, mentorship, and networking opportunities to prepare for your future career—whether in grad school, industry, or beyond. Plus, the URSP Advisory Board hosts social events and networking opportunities, helping you connect with fellow scholars!

No matter your experience level, CUR has a research program for you! Swipe to explore our opportunities.

🌱 Emerging Scholars Program (ESP) – Ideal for first- and second-year students with no prior research experience! Scholars receive $1,000 to complete a research project with a self-selected faculty mentor. (Spring–Fall)

🏆 University Scholars Program (USP) – Our flagship research program! Scholars receive $1,750, and mentors receive $500 to support a Fall–Spring research project. Applications are handled through individual colleges, so check eligibility for both you and your mentor before applying.

🌍 Summer Undergraduate International Research Program (SUIRP) – Take your research global with an 8–10 week international research experience! Scholars receive $5,000 and must submit a detailed research proposal, budget, and faculty support letters from both UF and the host institution.

📜 Research Experience for Undergraduates (REPU) – A recognition-based program for students who achieve key research milestones, such as presenting at conferences or publishing papers. Earn official recognition at graduation by joining the Canvas today!
