Heading to UHN? 🛑

Please allow extra travel time when visiting UHN sites on University Avenue including Toronto General Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Toronto Rehab – University Centre. The City of Toronto is conducting watermain and road work.

Northbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane on University Ave. from Armoury St. to College St. until early 2027. Additionally, from Wednesday, October 7 to Friday, October 16, 2026, eastbound traffic on College St. approaching University Ave. will also be reduced to a single lane.

While all UHN sites will remain accessible to vehicles and pedestrians, reduced traffic lanes may cause delays. Patients, families and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and consider subway travel to ensure they arrive on time for appointments and visits.

Time to roll up your sleeve, TeamUHN! 💉

Getting your annual flu vaccine is an important step you can take to help protect yourself, your colleagues and our patients during respiratory virus season.

Dr. Susy Hota, UHN’s Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control, is getting her flu vaccine and encouraging TeamUHN to do the same. UHN’s flu vaccine campaign is on until October 30, with several options available for staff to get vaccinated.

The @nytimes went inside an operating room at Toronto General Hospital, to see Dr. Amin Madani and Dr. Timothy Jackson use an AI surgical guide that uses real-time visual cues to help identify where it may or may not be safe to cut.

Housing is health care. 🏠

When UHN opened Dunn House, Canada’s first social medicine housing initiative, it proved this. When we prescribed housing as a part of care, patients experiencing homelessness and complex health challenges saw fewer emergency department visits and shorter hospital stays, showing how stable housing can transform lives.

Today, we’re proud to announce the next phase of social medicine housing with three new developments that will create nearly 200 additional supportive and transitional housing units for UHN patients.

Together with our partners at Build Canada Homes, @cityofto, @_createTO and @uhn.foundation, we’re expanding access to housing, improving health outcomes, and helping more people get the support they need.
