Congratulations to our Symphony and Concert Band horn sections on a fantastic concert last week! 🎶 We are so proud of all your incredible work and musicianship.

The final piece on the program, Un Cafecito, was dedicated to our own @derekjp06, who we tragically lost earlier this semester. Derek, you are deeply missed, and your memory will continue to live on through the music we make. 🦅💛

What a great week of chamber music at Iowa! 🎶

We kicked things off with a chamber music masterclass from the @american_brass_quintet, followed by an incredible recital that evening. Next up was a masterclass with @reederhorn, featuring performances from our DMA students @matfhorn and @jwhorn10 . We wrapped up the week with another fantastic recital from the @wingrawwq featuring @travarti on horn. The chamber music residency program at @uiowamusic is on 🔥🔥🔥!

So much great music, learning, and collaboration all in one week. Exciting things are happening at Iowa! 🎺🎶

What a great week of band camp for the @hmb_mellies, and we are especially proud of these @uiowahornstudio members! Pulling double duty is no simple task, but they pull it off with ease! We’re so looking forward to seeing all their hard work on the field at the first home football game in just two weeks.

Go Hawks! 📯🦅

What an incredible week at the 2026 Iowa Horn Camp! 📯🎶🦅

Last week, campers joined us for a week of learning, collaboration, and music-making as we explored all things horn. Campers took part in daily warm-up and technique classes, special topics sessions covering performance anxiety, Kopprasch studies, Wagner tuba, and much more, all while building new skills and friendships along the way.

The entire week was led by our clinician and coordinator @jwhorn10 (2nd year DMA) and our fabulous teaching assistant @ashley_muhs (BA sophomore). Campers worked together throughout the week to prepare a recital featuring a variety of horn ensemble music. The final performance showcased the dedication, growth, and enthusiasm of every participant.

Thank you to all of our campers, parents, supporters, and @uiowamusic for making the 2026 Iowa Horn Camp such a success!
