with last night's kickoff events, Fall 2026 Open Hours have officially begun in both the DCC Makerspace + SoundStudio. Open Hours recur on a weekly basis; any irregular closures or cancellations will be announced via institutional email and our IG story.

👥 MEET YOUR 2026-2027 DCC STAFF!

even our returning students are going to need to get acquainted with some unfamiliar faces 👀 we are so excited to be kicking off the year with new energy in so many DCC staff positions. we invite the DCC community—past and present—to start getting to know our new Director, Graduate Assistants, and Program Consultant at welcome events throughout the weekend and in these early days of the semester.

as an incoming student in the first-year Rho cohort, Thanh-Thuy uses she/her pronouns and is a Studio Art major.

🎓 Favorite High School Memory 🎓
During my high school journey, I loved spending time with my friends playing board games together when we were free; organizing and planning activities for our tutoring program; and simply having fun with each other where we could create fun memories.

💡 Favorite Form of Creative Making 💡
During my free time, I love drawing, painting, sketching, and digital art as forms of creativity that I enjoy practicing. Creating in different mediums is one of my favorite ways to express myself.

💚 Something DCC Should Know About Me 💚
Beside study in Studio Art, I also want to minor in Creative Writing and Rhetoric (COMM). I enjoy reading books, writing stuff, journaling, and watching movies or game shows during my free time. I also like volunteering and participating in clubs and extracurricular activities. I value education, family, and friendship, and I’m looking forward to my experience and journey in the DCC community at UMD. by @umd_dcc

Crafting. I find a lot of fun in working on long form crafts such as painting and decorating.
