Hands-on learning in our Neurology module! 🧠🩺

Our PA-S1s recently got to practice lumbar punctures in the lab! Students worked on proper technique, identifying anatomical landmarks, and practicing the steps of this important diagnostic procedure.

Another great opportunity to take what we’re learning in the classroom and put it into practice as we continue building our clinical skills! 💙💛 by @umkcpa

Our UMKC PA faculty recently attended the annual Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) Forum! 💙🩺

Major David Walker, PA-C, and Bryan Harris, PA-C, joined PA educators from across the country for a conference focused on professional development, collaboration, and the future of PA education.

Throughout the conference, they attended sessions covering a wide range of topics, including educator burnout, longitudinal OSCE assessments, Gen Z attendance and engagement, artificial intelligence in PA education, and innovative approaches to teaching complex medical concepts.

Major Walker also had the opportunity to present at this year's Forum, sharing his knowledge and experience with fellow PA educators!

The PAEA Forum provides an opportunity for educators to exchange ideas, explore new teaching strategies, and learn about developments shaping PA education. These experiences help our faculty continue to strengthen our curriculum and bring new perspectives and resources back to the classroom.

We're grateful to Major Walker and Bryan Harris for representing UMKC and for their continued commitment to improving the educational experience for our PA students! 💛 by @umkcpa

We put the JAZZ in Jazzercise! 🪩💗

Our KC PA-S1s wrapped up PA Week spirit days in style with a Jazzercise-themed day! From the colorful outfits to the sweatbands, everyone understood the assignment! 💃🏼✨

A HUGE thank you to our very own Mrs. Cox for leading us through a Jazzercise class and bringing all the energy! We couldn’t think of a more fun way to finish out our PA Week festivities! 💛 by @umkcpa

Day 2 of PA Week: Undergrad Day!! 🎓💙

Our KC and Columbia PA-S1s showed some love to their alma maters today! We had lots of Mizzou representation, along with Arkansas, Rockhurst, Fort Hays State, UNO, and plenty of other schools! 🐯

Our KC campus also got to start the morning with breakfast thanks to a generous donation from @gooddaycafekc 🥯☕️ Such a fun surprise, and we’re so thankful for the support!

A fun way to celebrate all the different paths that brought us together at UMKC PA! 🩺🤍 by @umkcpa

Day 1 of KC PA Week was a full one!! 🩺💙

Our KC PA-S1 students kicked things off with PJ day, powered through our EENT exam, and celebrated being DONE with the module with lunch at Teocali! 🌮 Then they wrapped up the day with pickleball, food, and some friendly competition at @chickennpicklenkc 🏓

The perfect way to start PA Week and spend some time together outside of the classroom. One day down, lots more celebrating to come! 🤍🩺 by @umkcpa
