What's better than 1 BFA '29 production? 2 BFA '29 productions! 🎭

Join us the weekend of October 22-25 to witness the dedication from our BFA Acting Class of 2029 with performances of “Picnic” and “Ah, Wilderness!” located in the Rarig Center.

A stirring and Pulitzer-winning drama, “Picnic” takes place in the joint backyards of two widows during the Labor Day holiday in a small Kansas town in the 1950s, where the appearance of a handsome outsider upends their life.

“Picnic” Performances:
Thursday October 22, 2026 7:30pm
Saturday October 24, 2026 7:30pm
Sunday October 25, 2026 2:00pm
______________________________________________

Revived in 1998 to acclaim at New York's Lincoln Center, "Ah, Wilderness!" is a sharp departure from the gritty reality of the author's renowned dramas. Taking place over the July 4th weekend of 1906 in an idyllic Connecticut town, it offers a tender, retrospective portrait of small town family values, teenage growing pains, and young love.

"Ah, Wilderness!" Performances:
Friday October 23, 2026 7:30pm
Saturday October 24, 2026 2:00pm
Sunday October 25, 2026 7:30pm

Both events are free with registration. Head to the link in our bio for more information!

In early December 2024, TyLie Shider's "Whittier: A Play in Portraits" was performed in the UMN's Rarig Center.

Now you can catch a performance of this powerful play @WalkerArtCenter this Thursday (9/24) as part of their Free Thursday Nights.

"Whittier" is a contemporary docudrama following a diverse community of neighbors quarantined in Whittier, MN days after the murder of George Floyd in May 2020. The play is inspired by the graffiti, lawn signs, and murals created in protest of Floyd’s murder. It is adapted from focus groups, interviews, and talks Shider conducted with neighbors, small business owners, and community leaders of faith during the 2020 uprisings in his neighborhood.

Watch the full video to learn more about this play, and view it in person at the Walker Art Center this Thursday night! The presentation includes a brief screening of the documentary "Sign O’ the Times", which was adapted into the script, produced by local community nonprofit Dark Muse Healing Arts. A talkback with the performers and producers of the show follows the program.

More details at link in bio.

Congratulations to alumni, Brielle Peterman (‘26), Caiti Fallon (‘25), and rising senior, Shannon O’Sullivan (‘27) who are in a production of The Crucible!

JULY 17, 18, 24 & 25 | 7PM
JULY 19 & 26 | 2PM at The Southern Theater with Uncharted Theatre

Salem, 1692. A group of young girls is caught dancing in the woods at night, and a mysterious illness soon follows. With no earthly explanation, the Puritan community turns to the supernatural.

In a society where church and state are one, the effort to root out evil becomes more destructive than the evil itself. When the crime is witchcraft and proof is invisible, accusation is enough. Everyone is vulnerable. No one is safe.

✨BFA Acting Spotlight:

Congratulations to rising junior, Henry Woods who is in a production of A Chorus Line

The run ends June 14 at Park Square Theatre!

A stunning concept musical that captures the spirit, energy, and raw tension of a Broadway ensemble audition.

As hopeful dancers compete for a coveted spot in the chorus, they reveal the personal stories, ambitions, and struggles that have shaped their lives. A Chorus Line offers an unfiltered, deeply human portrait of the artists behind the glamour of Broadway. A brilliantly complex fusion of song, dance, and authentic drama, it was instantly recognized as a classic, winning nine Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

To celebrate the landmark 50th anniversary, Park Square Theatre’s production proudly features Michael Bennett’s original Broadway choreography - preserving the iconic moves and heart-stopping rhythms that have thrilled audiences for generations.

Not only does 2026 mark Park Square Theatre’s 50th anniversary, but it is also the 50th anniversary of A Chorus Line - a shared milestone that makes this production the perfect centerpiece for our celebratory season. Whether you’re seeing it for the first time or rediscovering its magic, A Chorus Line is a singular sensation that captures the passion, vulnerability, and resilience of the Broadway dream.
