Women’s Grappling Camp I

What happened last weekend after 11 months of planning is exactly what we had hoped for, and so much more.

Our “Why” for this camp since its inception was to encourage women in this sport to press on, lean into discomfort and challenges, help others rise, and connect and build community.

In the midst of planning things and setting them into play, we almost forgot that the missing piece to it was each and every woman in attendance. It was as if the stage had been set but we were waiting for the orchestra to fill the space.

And did you ever! Each woman brought their own beautiful song, all harmonizing, creating a rich medley.

There is something so interesting that happens in this individual sport that depends so heavily on teammates to play the game. Community is deep and strong. Professional athletes train elbow to elbow with hobbyists who will never step foot on the competition stage. And yet, they value each other and learn and grow together in a sport that never excludes anyone based on gender, size, age, rank, or skill. The mats invite you to show up and be true to yourself, they meet you where you are. The people, in this instance-women, struggling alongside you help you rise beyond what you thought you were capable.

Unbreakable Camp was a reminder to each of us that we rise by lifting others. We find courage when we show up for each other. And most of all, what often tries to break you makes your spirit Unbreakable.

A 3x Master World Champion, No-Gi World Champion, and co-founder of Unbreakable Jiu-Jitsu, Kari is a competitor, coach, and passionate advocate for women in the sport.

🤼‍♀️ As the head of Genesis Jiu-Jitsu’s women’s program, Kari has helped women of all experience levels build confidence, develop their skills, and find their place on the mats.

🥇Her coaching combines competition-tested technique, solid fundamentals, and the kind of encouragement that helps people discover what they’re truly capable of.

🥇 Kendall Reusing is an 8x IBJJF World Champion across all belts, Gi & NoGi. She is also a 2x ADCC Veteran and 2024 ADCC bronze medalist.

🥋 She owns four Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu academies with her family, and an online coaching company dedicated to personal excellence, which has expanded into international, in-person retreats.

🎤 Kendall also hosts a podcast, Get A Grip, and is a sports broadcaster and commentator for FloGrappling and IBJJF, amongst other organizations.

🫶Throughout her career, Kendall has developed a deep passion for teaching and sharing her love for jiu jitsu and personal development.
