Founded in 1882, @PaineCollege was created through a partnership between Methodist Episcopal and Colored Methodist Episcopal leaders to educate Black students.

Paine Lions bring a close-knit liberal arts tradition to Augusta, GA, with student success and purpose at the center of the experience.

What is one campus tradition everyone should experience? Tell us in the comments.

The AUC is a different world. We’re celebrating the premiere of A Different World on @netflix, filmed at three of our very own Atlanta member institutions: @spelman_college, @morehouse1867, and @cau1988!

Congratulations to the entire cast and crew, and to the AUC students who helped bring Hillman College to life! We’re proud to see the legacy, culture, and spirit of our HBCUs represented on a global stage.

Now, it’s your turn to experience it! 🍿 A Different World is now streaming on Netflix. Beyond the screen, you can also help UNCF Atlanta support the real-life scholars pursuing their dreams! Click the link in our bio or visit uncf.org/atlantadreambig to learn more and make an impact.

At UNITE 2026, I had the privilege of sitting down with @emarvelous Errin Haines, president of the National Association of Black Journalists @nabjofficial . Our conversation turned to the state of HBCUs and UNCF’s capital campaign as we advance toward $1 billion.

As the son of a journalist, I have always known the power of a story well told. Errin understands that the story of HBCUs is inseparable from the story of this nation, and I am grateful for her partnership in making sure it is heard.

💡 It all started with one idea.

In 1944, Dr. Frederick D. Patterson had enough faith to imagine a future where communities came together to make a college education possible for thousands of deserving scholars across the nation.

That idea became @UNCF when 27 colleges and universities, many of them church-founded and affiliated, united for one vision. More than 80 years later, UNCF and the faith community continue the impact of Dr. Patterson’s idea!

Through the DREAM BIG! Faith Campaign, we’re building scholarships for our students throughout Georgia. We invite you to join us! If one idea can create a lasting legacy, imagine what we can do together, with faith. 💙
