A few frames from one of our favourite projects of 2023. Shooting the Biosteel NHL camp right here in Halifax was a surreal experience for us and one that we will never forgot 👌🏼 seeing some of the best players on the planet up close, training and practicing together really gives perspective on just how fast and skilled these guys are ⚡️ manifesting more of these types of projects in 2024 and beyond 🏒 taken in Halifax, Nova Scotia by @uncharted.media

2023 was the coolest year of our lives, in a lot of ways our dreams have come true and our hard work has started to pay off.

We were not only fortunate enough to work with both Hockey Canada and Biosteel right here in Halifax, but we also spent time in both Jamaica and San Diego documenting the Haudenosaunee Nationals with the Men’s & Women’s Lacrosse programs. On top of that, we started working closely with the CFL and had the chance to shoot Atlantic Touchdown here in Nova Scotia, and a partnership video at the Grey Cup in Hamilton for Land Rover.

We also spent our first season hitting the road with the Halifax Thunderbirds to document another bid for an NLL championship. Working with the Thunderbirds has and continues to be an unbelievable experience. The city of Halifax has truly rallied behind the team and has no doubt become a lacrosse city through and through. We can’t wait to see what this season has in store 🏆

Finally, we began working on an incredible project with the Turtle Island Institute; documenting the journey of an amazing group of individuals as they explore Metuaptmumk (all around seeing through whole person development) through the process of building a birch bark canoe. We are so excited to be able to share this project in the upcoming year.

All that being said, it’s hard to imagine topping such an insane year, but that’s exactly what we plan to do in 2024 📈 by @uncharted.media

This will admittedly be the first of many posts from this trip because there’s no way I can sum it all up in one.

Japan gave me a lot more than photos.

It changed the way I see the world. Being surrounded by that many people, moving through a place so different from home, gave me a much bigger perspective on just how many lives are unfolding at once on this spinning rock.

Every person carrying their own history, family, culture, beliefs, and way of understanding the world.

It also made me think about how much most of us never get the chance to learn about one another.

Before working with the Haudenosaunee Nationals, I knew very little about their history, culture, sovereignty, or what lacrosse truly means to them. Over time, I’ve been fortunate enough to be invited in, to listen, to document, and to learn.

That trust is something I’ll never take lightly.

I’m a white guy from Nova Scotia. These stories are not mine, and I’ll never pretend to fully understand an experience I didn’t grow up living. But this opportunity has changed me. It has made me more curious, more open, and more aware of how much history exists beyond what I was taught.

My dad wears the Haudenosaunee shirts I bring home, and people ask him what they mean. Friends see the work and want to know more. Someone watches a video and learns the name Haudenosaunee for the first time.

That matters.

This has never just been about lacrosse. It’s about people, culture, spirituality, history, family, and a way of seeing the world that deserves to be understood by far more people.

I don’t see myself as a replacement for Haudenosaunee voices. I’m simply grateful to have been trusted to help amplify them.

The greatest thing this opportunity has given me wasn’t the access, the travel, or the footage.

It was perspective.

And the more of the world I see, the more I realize how much there still is to learn.

Nia:wen to everyone who continues to welcome us, teach us, and trust us.

These stories were never ours.

We’re simply fortunate enough to help carry them. taken in Tokyo 東京, Japan by @uncharted.media

A few frames from a pretty cool one. 🇺🇸🏒

Earlier this year we headed to Lake Placid with @cwenchhydration to help bring their Miracle On Ice launch to life alongside @swaggyp_63 and @thenasher61

One of the things we love most about working with CWENCH is the people. Every project puts us around talented athletes, creators, and great humans who genuinely make the work fun.

Huge credit to @anthony.mila , who led the entire launch from start to finish, and Lea Torcetti, who was instrumental in helping direct and bring the vision together on set.

@strykeforse took the lead on directing and capturing many of the key visuals during our production days, while @kylepatrickmacdonald and @strowbie focused on photo, b-roll, and drone coverage. @justlaxmedia was behind the scenes documenting the entire experience and making sure none of the moments between the moments were missed.

The best projects are usually the ones where everyone knows their role, trusts each other, and works toward the same vision.

We’ve been sitting on this footage (and a lot more) for a while now, and we’re finally making time to share some of the projects we’ve been fortunate enough to be part of over the last few years. 👀

More behind the scenes, more stories, and a lot more work we’ve never posted before coming soon.

A few of our favourite frames from earlier this summer we had the opportunity to capture @canoe2026 on Lake Banook 🛶

It’s always so cool to be able to be a part of international events that come to Halifax, especially when it’s held in a community that’s known worldwide for developing some of the best paddlers in the world! 🏆 taken in Lake Banook by @uncharted.media

Happy to be here at the Pan American Sixes Lacrosse Championships with the @haudenosaunee_nationals 🎥🥍

From Japan to Oshawa and a few places in between, I’m always grateful for any opportunity I get to tag along with this organization and help tell their stories.

Another week behind the camera with some of the best people. Let’s get to work 🎥

Yesterday was one of those “how is this my job?” kind of days.

Lunenburg is my hometown. I moved away 12 years ago, but it’ll always be a huge part of who I am and, honestly, probably explains a lot about why I am the way I am.

This one felt especially full circle.

My whole journey with a camera basically started in Lunenburg, filming my friends at the skate park 😅. Now, all these years later, I’m back home with a camera in my hands, stepping aboard the Bluenose to help tell a small piece of her story.

I grew up with the Bluenose basically in my backyard. It was always just there. Part of the town, part of home, and something I probably didn’t fully appreciate when I was younger.

I’ve been lucky enough to take this camera all over the world, but there’s something pretty special about where it all started bringing me back home.

Never lost on me where this little camera has taken me. ⚓️

Fueling what’s next. 🥗🏒

We’re excited to officially welcome @maebatherson as HARVEST’s first Athlete Ambassador.

This partnership is about more than having an athlete wear our logo. It’s about working with people who genuinely live the lifestyle HARVEST was built around.

We’ve got a lot planned with Mae, and we’re just getting started.

Welcome to the HARVEST family, Mae💚 taken in Canada by @uncharted.media

The newest @harvestcleaneats location is officially OPEN! 🔥

It was an amazing to be a part of the newest chapter in the Harvest story. The turnout for the grand opening was off the charts, the vibes were high and the entire staff at Harvest Scotia Plaza absolutely killed it 🙌🏼

So excited for the future of this brand and for the opportunity for @strowbie and I to help tell the story of Harvest for years to come! 😁 taken in Scotia Plaza by @uncharted.media

Is this peak?

Genuinely one of my favourite moments I’ve ever captured. Bagpipes echoing across Cabot, ocean in the background, camera in hand.

How can you not be romantic about golf?

Follow Alex to see the full film. He’s documenting courses across the country and telling the stories of the places that make this game so special.

Pretty pumped that the Nova Scotia episode was captured by @golfwithbigal , @adamhillphoto and myself. Can’t wait to see this one come together. ⛳️ taken in Cabot Links Golf Course by @uncharted.media
