Two beautiful waterfalls in Bryant, AL near the Tri-State border. I’ve had this spot marked to explore for nearly two years now and today I finally went and it totally exceeded my expectations! It blows my mind how much beauty remains largely unknown in this state.

This is a tall seasonal waterfall on the bluffs of Alabama’s Pisgah Gorge. It is about a half mile downstream from the main waterfalls of the gorge, but it is very difficult to get to due to the extreme terrain of the gorge. If you are confident in your off trail hiking/rock scrambling abilities then it is worth a visit! Definitely don’t go right now though because it would be bone dry 😂 wait until January thru April when we have consistent rain. Did you know there’s a waterfall next to the popular Weathington Park overlook? This seasonal waterfall is located right off the road near the entrance to the park. This sinkhole waterfall outside the town of Grant in Marshall County, Alabama is defined by its luscious green vegetation that resembles scenes from the set of Jurassic Park! There is also a cave entrance behind the waterfall.

Thompson Falls is located near the southern edge of Lake Guntersville. It’s a four-tier waterfall that cuts off the Brindlee Mountain plateau and drains into the Tennessee River below. It has an upper, middle, and two part lower falls. It’s on private property surrounded by multiple residential spots so access is unfortunately limited.

“Alabama Sundown” has always been my favorite Dolly Parton song (for obvious reasons). It’s lesser known, but it’s the perfect soundtrack to put on as I’m driving home from a long day exploring Alabama waterfalls with a beautiful windshield sunset before me.
