Train with me! Let's get started! Send me a DM 🙏🏼 by @uncommon_strength_

I used to "suffer" from Back Pain. I used a combination of these movements and ones like them. Use with caution though - training isn't a one size fits all type thing. You need to identify the cause in order to make real change. 1

One of my sides was compressed - a lateral movement like this lengthens and also strengthens the core.

My thoracic spine was concrete - it literally didn't move. This caused much more pressure through the rest of my spine. Now I enjoy a much more malleable upper back which definitely keeps me looking and feeling younger. (You are as young as your spine)

My hip flexors and Psoas were veeeeeeery tight. From years of sitting behind the computer (previous life) and then also training and getting stronger legs without cooling down effectively. (The Psoas connects to the spine - and is often quite an important piece of the puzzle in solving the cause of the pain)

My Quads were steel rods. The humble (Wall) Couch Stretch has become my trusted friend. There are many variations and best uses for this simple move and I have done waaaay more than my 10,000 hours (even over the past 3-4 years) investigating this for my own body and for others. Can I get an honorable doctorate in the Couch Stretch?

My Neck was forward leaning. This can cause many issues for the neck and spine in general also. (It's all connected).
The Gilson Loop is a daily train for me and has helped immensely. P.S. The version above is advanced - do not try unless you have trained this for a long time. There are beginner versions. I just wanted to show off 😂 🙏🏼 by @uncommon_strength_

Pain doesn't mean you are broken - it often means something needs to change. by @uncommon_strength_

Bodies and goals can be very individual- that is why an individual approach is often needed when selecting exercises and the techniques within them. by @uncommon_strength_

For my beginner surfers! A better pop up doesn’t start in the water - It starts with what you do on land!

These 3 exercises will help you build strength, speed and control so your pop up feels faster and more effortless next time you paddle out.
