UNCW coastal engineering students helped design and build a clear loop demonstration system that brings dredging concepts to life in the classroom.

Inspired by a visit to KSB-GIW and made possible through philanthropic support from Manson Construction Co., the hands-on learning tool allows students to visualize sediment transport and slurry flow in real time.

This is experiential learning at its best, with students creating a resource that will benefit future Seahawks for years to come. by @uncwcse

What if a simple glance could help someone regain independence?

At UNCW, intelligent systems engineering students, alumni and faculty are advancing gaze-guided robotics, transforming eye movements into commands that control a robotic arm. By combining eye-tracking technology, mixed reality and predictive control systems, they're creating hands-free solutions that could improve daily life for people with paralysis, Parkinson’s disease and other mobility impairments.

From carrying a cup without spilling to opening new possibilities for accessibility, this research is helping turn innovation into impact. by @uncwcse

Meet UNCW’s newest “student” 🤖👀

Engineering and computer science students spent the summer bringing a 4-foot-tall humanoid robot to life - teaching it to walk, make gestures and even pick up objects. The hands-on project is giving Seahawks real-world experience in AI, robotics and human-machine interaction.

And yes, it still needs a name 🤔
