The historical formerly abandoned Imperial theater in Cincinnati Ohio was built in 1912 as a vaudeville house for live action shows and was later converted into a cinema theater in the early 1930s, for decades the theater was a major “neighborhood entertainment hub” for the Mohawk district of Cincinnati. In the 1960s the theater transitioned from a cinema into an adult venue hosting live burlesque shows and adult films. After about 10 years the theater closed in 1970 and was later purchased by a local church organization (New Life Outreach Ministries) and was used to hold regular services and weekly mass the church also used the building for other things while under there ownership such as a mattress and furniture store as well as a thrift store. The church owned the building up until 2014 with hesitation of selling as they wanted to restore the historical building themselves. It was eventually sold to a new owner which had plans of completely restoring the historical theater into its former self. After many years the theater has finally gotten to a state of stability where they now host and hold tours of the historical building so if you would like to see the place for yourself you can legally tour the place for a small donation of $10! these photos were taken well before i got a camera and before tours were open to the public here are some of the salvageable phone pictures i got of this sick place enjoy! taken in Cincinnati, Ohio by @under_explorations

Deep in the middle of the woods sits this former power station that was built sometime in the 1920s to power a very small midwestern town. The plant operated for about 60 years before closing down in the mid 80s. we went into this complete blind, within 2 minutes of getting out of the car we already had neighboring people questioning and threatening in to call the cops, that didn’t stop us we moved the car and began our hike, about half way to the plant we felt like we were being followed through the woods we ignored this feeling because of how far we were and continued to push towards the plant. as we approached we noticed there was a next door neighbor that was outside and had full view of the plant we successfully snuck past and explored the entire plant, as we began our long hike back to the car we got about 10 minutes in and heard a four wheeler coming in our direction we hid to the best of our ability’s as the four wheeler got within 30 feet of us we stayed quiet as the engine got killed and we heard a shotgun rack and leaves begin crushed closer and closer to us we made a split second decision, run, so we ran fast and as far away from our position as possible slowly making a loop back to the car and somehow managing to get out of there before cops or a psychotic property owner found us, stay safe out there never know what kind of situation you can end up in.

Meramec generating station in St. Louis started construction in 1950 and by May 1953 the first turbine was generating electricity. This plant had six massively unique turbines ranging from four 137 megawatts units, one 289 megawatts unit and one 359 megawatts unit! The plant retired in 2022 and shortly after demolition started, feel as tho this is the right time to post as the turbine hall is completely gutted. I wish words could describe how intense this exploration was having to slip past cameras, security and demolition workers inside the plant. This was such an experience, extremely glad i got to knock this one off of the list also got to watch a beautiful sunrise from the roof.

The Cincinnati Mills Mall was originally built by L.J. Hooker in 1986 and opened in July of 1988 as The Forest Fair mall the mall was 1.5 million square feet. In January 1991 seven of Hookers lenders took over operation of the mall as FFM Limited Partnership, because of this 44% of the stores in the mall had left due to not knowing the future of the malls operation. In may of 1992 the mall was rebranded to Malls of Forest Fair. This was part of a $25,000,000 renovation project which divided the mall into four different sections themed around entertainment, value, fashion, and lifestyle.
The mall was put on the market in february of 1995 and later bought by Gator Forest Park Partners of Miami for $18,000,000 in 1996. There plan was to invest $10,000,00 into the mall over the next three year. In 1998 The Parisian closed its store getting replaced by the Showcase Cinema. In October of 2000 Burlington Coat Factory, In November 2000 Bass Pro Shop opened a store and in September of 2001 Wonderpark Family Fun Center opened a small indoor child amusement park.
The Mills Corporation bought the property for $69,400,000 they started a $70,000,000 renovation project and in February of 2003. August of 2004 the mall was renamed to the Cincinnati Mills. On February 28 2010 Showcase Cinemas closed for good. In 2017 Newmark the owners at the time listed the mall for sale at $55,000,000 with few stores still open. In 2017 the mall was listed for sale and in 2022 the 1.9million square foot mall was bought with plans of demo for an industrial site.
This was an extremely fun and sketchy mission having 5 security making laps and multiple inside making rounds made this quite the challenge.

The Millennium Hotel consisted of two towers Millennium tower I and Millennium tower II, tower I was built in 1968 as a 28 story skyscraper sitting at 290 feet, at the time was one of the tallest in the city. Tower one was built with 486 rooms, a beautiful massive grand ballroom in the basement and a revolving restaurant/ observation lounge. Tower II was built in 1974 and was an 11 story tall circular hotel building with 294 rooms, a pool in the main lobby and a very nice skylight. The hotel Originally opened as a Stouffer’s Riverfront Inn it later became Regal Riverfront Hotel and in 1999 it was bought and became The Millennium Hotel. In 2014 after 45 years the massive 780 room Millennium Hotel closed its doors for good. According to the owner the building wasn’t up to date with company standards and the building had fallen in to disrepair and would need to much work. The building is now set for demolished and the gateway arch foundation has plans of a $670,000,000 renovation.
This was by far the hardest and sketchiest exploration i have done, having scoped the building previous times in St.Louis. We sent it out to St.Louis dead of night to explore this massive hotel , having 24 hour security that makes consistent laps, security cameras all over the building, alarms and sensors and knowing multiple people have gotten caught and arrested made this one really tricky. This was an extremely trilling experience having to duck and slip past cameras, motion sensors and security we managed to explore almost everything in this building.

Originally constructed in 1911 the Municipal Courthouse was originally known for its intricate 4 story 160,000 square foot symmetrical layout. In September of 1908 the city bought all of property west of CIty Hall for $975,000 and demolished of the old block started. They estimated the project to cost around $2,000,000 in 1911 which is around $70,000,000 today. After construction the Municipal Courthouse housed the Fire department as-well as the Police department headquarters, juvenile courts, Police courts, and much much more. In 2003 offices were moved to the federal courthouse and the building has sat vacant and abandoned ever since. The city is working on trying to restore this historical building into a 149 room apartment building/housing unit, unfortunately the build has fallen into disrepair an estimated $70,000,000 would be needed to restore the building, $3,000,000 has already been put into the project. I’m extremely lucky i had the opportunity to explore this place i missed my chance last time i was in town and glad i could make it inside. Truly one of the most beautiful architectural interiors with genuine decay and very little destruction/tags, this place is truly a time capsule it would be cool to see the city put this building to use, genuinely hard to believe it’s been abandoned for 22 years.
