We have work to do… 🔥🔥🔥 by @underthepartytree

Come spy on the Inklings on Addison’s Walk with me and find Tolkien’s answer to Lewis, who believed that myths were nothing more than “lies breathed through silver”. 🌻 by @underthepartytree

Another bittersweet first has come to an end. On Fairy Stories wrecked me in the best way, and I am eager to continue in my Wanderings and Ponderings of Tolkien’s works for the very first time! You can read the full post in the links on my page.🌻 by @underthepartytree

With only one more core section of this essay to come after this post (Recovery, Escape, Consolation) and the Epilogue/conclusion of this deep work to come after, I am feeling the bittersweet sting of another “first” coming to an end in my heart.

This section wrecked me, fam.

There are few things in this world that will make you question your life, reality, the future, truth, relationships, purpose and the willpower to push through it all to come to the end well—The Word of God, a good conspiracy theory, and Tolkien’s essay On Fairy Stories remain at the top of the list for me… read on at the blog or on Substack—you know what to do!🌳 by @underthepartytree

This 50th Anniversary Edition of The Hobbit by J. R.R. Tolkien was my first addition to the Tolkien library and the illustrations are stunning! I love diving into what Tolkien imagined these places looked like as much as I love other artists’ adaptations for Tolkien’s work.

Who are some of your favorite Tolkien artists? Tag them in the comments so I can go follow!🌻 by @underthepartytree

Future Tolkien Room!🥹🥹

We moved into this house in November and the purpose of this room has changed many times.

From art studio to “green room” (plant starting room) back to art studio… this space was going to be “my” room. Now that we’ve settled into the home a bit more, this is going to be the perfect space to transform into my own little Bag End to find peace and rest. 👣 by @underthepartytree

Published May 25, 2026, a heavy reflection on how fantasy and fairy stories saved me more than once… I hope you will join me on this journey of wandering through Tolkien’s works for the very first time over on Substack!!👣 by @underthepartytree

I’m slowly building my Tolkien library and these are the editions of The Hobbit I have so far! Which is your favorite edition of The Hobbit?👣 by @underthepartytree

I gleaned much from this chapter of On Fairy Stories and shared Tolkien’s words about the origins of “fairy stories” in this post published on May 18, 2026. I would be so honored if you joined me on Substack for this journey through Tolkien’s works for the very first time!👣 by @underthepartytree

I dove into Tolkien’s On Fairy Stories and broke down the difference between Fairy and Faërie in this post published on May 11, 2026. I hope you will join me on this journey over on Substack as I wander and ponder my way through Tolkien’s works for the very first time!👣 by @underthepartytree

My next Wanderings and Ponderings will be through On Fairy Stories, part of Tolkien’s anthology Tree and Leaf. Have you read On Fairy Stories?
