unit are releasing music for the first time today.

‘Rachel’ and ‘Pollyanna’ Principle’ are up on Bandcamp and Subvert. It’s a classic rockin’ A-side subdued B-side situation.

I think this is some of my best work to date and am so grateful to the band for bringing so much to the project and these tracks. Special thanks also to Finn, Cari, Lola and Ella who, though not on this recording, all played on these songs with us at one time or another and really helped them take shape.

No Spotify or streaming shit. The hypocrisy of writing all these doomer songs only to publish them on streaming services that are all about the doom is a bit much for me.

Surprise announce!! We have our final free rockyabones of 2026 ! Kicking off at 7 this Friday Oct 2nd we’ve managed to align to Aus tours from two unique and energetic bands both on the road from their perspective homelands, @_smallways._ & @unitband_ to end our year here at bar Yuki with a bang. With such an epic year here at bar Yuki we’ve seen such an eclectic bunch of independent artist and this final show reflects that perfect. To all the bands that have reached out to come play our sleepy town and all the punters they have come supported and shared stories, laughs and made memories that may last a lifetime. Oh boy! Just like a real band.

Having grown too big for this city to contain us we’re going on tour. We’ll be releasing our first single ‘Rachel’ (+ a secret B-side) on September 24th to commemorate this adventure! Just bandcamp and subvert for now, but don’t worry, we’re sure to cave to that streaming service blood money sooner or later!

SATURDAY: GEORGIA KNIGHT

Following her Supernatural Amphitheatre debut at Golden Plains, Naarm-born, sometimes Aotearoa-based dark pop artist Georgia Knight returns to The Tote for one special night. Joining her on stage is Cloud Ice 9 and DONT, the new musical project from 00_.

It’s been a big twelve months for Georgia. The independent release of her debut album Beanpole (“an evocative set of dimly-lit, hypnotic, psych-tinted pop”, says KEXP) was a highly regarded work that led to praise from the likes of Sharon Van Etten, Arab Strap and BBC Radio 6 Music.

Critics have raved about her “shadowy, seductive trip-hop textures” (KCRW), her “extraordinary vocal range [and] graveside poems” (The 13th Floor) and her “goosebumps”-inducing live performances (BBC Radio 6).

In support of the album, Georgia was booked to perform a string of highly coveted shows like The Great Escape Festival (UK), Golden Plains (AU), Phoenix Central Park (AU), The Others Way (NZ), Port Noise (NZ) and more.

Georgia Knight is your favourite musician’s favourite musician, and she’ll soon become yours, too.
