Today’s the day, Rhode Island. 💙

Tonight, we’re celebrating 100 years of United Way of Rhode Island at WaterFire, right in the heart of Providence.

For @Ellijah_mclean and all of us at United Way, being in community means being where the people are. It means celebrating together, connecting Rhode Islanders with the support they need, and giving more people the chance to experience what United Way has to offer.

If you’re downtown today, come find us and be part of our Centennial journey. 🔥

Congratulations to @Duhamelscott, this year’s Dante F. Mollo Award honoree!

Last night at Farm Fresh Rhode Island, we celebrated Scott and a career spent fighting for working people and opening doors into the trades for Rhode Islanders. Our CEO @Cortneynicolato said it best from the stage: his leadership embodies the spirit of this award.

Proceeds from the night support the George Nee Labor Solidarity Fund, which stands with union families through unexpected hardship. Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer him on! 🎉

This Saturday on UNITED in 401, our CEO, @Cortneynicolato, is looking back on 100 years of neighbors helping neighbors in Rhode Island.

She’s joined by @Chachihiphop, chief equity officer for the City of Pawtucket and a member of our board, and our Senior Director of People and Culture, @Kevinmatta_speaks. They talk about what community partnerships and collective action have made possible across the state, and the people and organizations who helped shape the last century of this work.

They also get into what the Centennial WaterFire celebration means to all of us and where the next 100 years of strengthening Rhode Island communities can go from here.

Tune in on WPRO, Saturday, October 17 at 1:00 PM. 🎧

Some opportunities remind you to slow down, take a breath, and remember why you started in the first place. This Saturday is one of those moments.

We are incredibly grateful to be collaborating with our friends at @unitedwayri and @waterfireprov to showcase some of New England and Rhode Island’s incredible emerging talent through The Search Showcase.

As we share the performance times and introduce the artists joining us this Saturday from 4 PM to 10 PM, we can’t help but reflect on how fortunate we are to collaborate and create opportunities for our community to shine.

The Search was built on a belief that talent is everywhere, but opportunity isn’t always equal. Sometimes all someone needs is a stage, someone who believes in them, and a chance to show the world what they can do.

“For me, this has never been just about putting on a show or competition. It’s about community, creativity, connection, and using whatever platform we have to lift others up. The more I learn, the more I realize that the greatest reward isn’t being in the spotlight. It’s helping someone else find theirs.

I’m thankful for the artists who trust us with their gifts, the partners who share our vision, and the people who continue to believe in what we’re building here in Rhode Island.

Most importantly, I’m grateful for the reminder that we all have something to contribute. Sometimes the best thing we can do is open a door, make an introduction, or give someone a chance they might not otherwise have.” Ed Brady

Join us this Saturday from 4 PM to 10 PM as we celebrate local talent, community, and the power of coming together through the arts.

Please take a moment to check out the artists, their performance times, and their work. Show them some love, share their names, and come support them if you can!

Thank you to United Way and WaterFire for helping make this possible.

More love, more opportunity, and more reasons to be grateful. Homegrown! ❤️🙏🏻

Our CEO @Cortneynicolato stopped by @Studio10wjar on Monday for a conversation with @Krystintv.

October is a full month for us as we mark our 100th year, and time on air like this helps more Rhode Islanders hear about the work happening in their own communities. Thank you, Krystin and the Studio 10 team, for having us.

For 100 years, Rhode Islanders have rallied so every neighbor can thrive. Now we’re kicking off the next 100, and we want you on the team.

A gift of $100, one dollar for every year of our history, makes you part of what comes next. Together, we’re carrying this work into a second century across Rhode Island.

This Saturday at WaterFire, we light up the next 100. Give here: https://tinyurl.com/100for100Years 🔥

Our CEO @Cortneynicolato joined @Willgilbert on @Therhodeshow last Friday to talk about our 100th year and the celebration we’re hosting this Saturday with @Waterfireprov.

For a century, Rhode Islanders have come together to support their neighbors and strengthen communities in every corner of this state. Saturday is a night to honor that. Come downtown with your family, meet local nonprofits, and find out how you can volunteer and get involved.
