In Nepal, many queer people face difficulties within their families when it comes to openly expressing their identity and sexuality. Since society remains relatively conservative, some parents find it difficult to accept their children when their identities or sexualities differ from their expectations. This gap between families and queer people continues to affect various aspects of their lives. World Mental Health Day! Mental health is important, and so is the way we care for ourselves and one another. Everyone deserves an environment where they can speak openly, be heard, understood, respected, and supported without fear of judgment or discrimination. Every individual should have the opportunity to speak openly about their mental health. It is essential to challenge the stigma, misconceptions, and negative attitudes surrounding mental health. As an organization working in the field of mental health, we are committed to encouraging open conversations about mental health and creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and respected. #lbtmentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalwellness #healing #unityforchange by @unity_4_change
In schools, even teachers themselves are often reluctant to discuss or teach Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) due to social stigma and cultural taboos. As a result, students are unable to access accurate and comprehensive information about their SRHR and comprehensive sexuality education (CSE). Happy Lesbian Day! 💗 Today, we celebrate and honor the identities, voices, experiences, rights, and contributions of the lesbian community. Lesbian identity is a strong and integral part of the broader queer community, contributing to the diversity and wholeness of our collective queer movement. Lesbian women continue to face discrimination, stigma, and inequality in various personal and public spheres because of their identity and sexuality. Therefore, advocating for lesbian rights and inclusion is not only about visibility, it is also about ensuring equality, respect, safety, dignity, and access to rights. As an organization continuously working for the LBT community, we remain committed to upholding the rights of every lesbian person to live freely, safely, respectfully, and with dignity while being able to embrace and express their identity. Today and every day, we stand with lesbian voices, rights, and communities. #lesbianday #lesbianvisibility #lesbianright #lesbianvoice #queerinclusion by @unity_4_change
As queer individuals, we are often treated as people who need extra support or as if we are somehow different from others. People may try to show sympathy toward us, but what every queer person truly deserves is empathy, respect, and equal treatment. Treating queer people as if they are not a part of society, or as though they are fundamentally different from everyone else, is wrong. We are a part of society, and we deserve to be seen, respected, and included as equal members of our communities. Full video on YouTube - link in bio. #lbtvoices #transrightsarehumanrights #respectidentities #unityforchange #mindmatters by @unity_4_change
For every queer person, family support means a lot. When our families stand by our side and carry the pride of our identity with us, it gives us greater courage to openly embrace who we are and feel proud of our identity. Family acceptance can create a safe environment where queer individuals feel seen, respected, and loved. Full video on YouTube - link in bio. #familyacceptance #queerlove #queerrespect #unityforchange #transrightsarehumanrights by @unity_4_change
