A real-life fairytale village in ItalyThis was one of the biggest surprises from our road trip from Rome. Comment “ROME” and we’ll send you our 2-day road trip.Just over 1.5 hours from Rome, you’ll find Sant’Angelo di Roccalvecce—a tiny medieval village that’s been transformed into the Village of Fairy Tales. As we wandered around, we’ve come across scenes inspired by Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Snow White, The Wizard of Oz, The Little Prince and so many more. The project started in 2017 to bring new life back to a village that had been losing residents, with artists and locals working together to transform the empty streets into an open-air museum.⏰ We’d recommend spending 1–2 hours exploring before stopping for a coffee or lunch nearby.#rometravel #rometrip #romeguide #travelrome #italytravel Rome day trips | Hidden gems near Rome | Sant’Angelo di Roccalvecce | Fairy Tale Village Italy | Lazio hidden gems | Places to visit near Rome | Italy road trip | Medieval villages Italy | 2-day road trip from Rome | Weekend from Rome | Italy travel guide by @unknownndestinationn

Everyone goes to Rome, but..most never discover one of Italy’s strangest parks. 👀This was one of the biggest surprises of our road trip from Rome. Comment “ROME” and we’ll send you our 2-day road trip.Just over 1 hour from Rome, you’ll find Sacro Bosco, also known as the Park of Monsters—a 16th-century garden unlike anywhere else in Italy.@parco.dei.mostri No one knows the exact meaning behind the park, which somehow makes it even more fascinating.🎟️ Tickets are €13 for adults.⏰ We’d recommend allowing 2–3 hours to explore. There are lots of hidden sculptures tucked away throughout the park, so it’s worth taking your time.#rometravel #rometrip #romeguide #travelromeRome day trips | Hidden gems near Rome | Best day trips from Rome | Sacro Bosco | Park of Monsters Italy | Bomarzo | Places to visit near Rome | Italy road trip | 2-day road trip from Rome | Weekend from Rome | Italy travel guide by @unknownndestinationn

This costs less than a pizza in Rome 👀Sorgente della Morica was another stop on our 2-day road trip from Rome. Comment “ROME” and we’ll send you our full itinerary. 🚗Just under 90 minutes from Rome, Sorgente della Morica is a hidden spring with crystal-clear turquoise water surrounded by nature. It honestly looks more like something you’d expect to find in the Dolomites than this close to Rome.🎟️ It’s costs €8 to access the area⏰ You can visit during two time slots: 10:00–13:45 or 14:00–17:45.🅿️ Parking is available along the main road, but spaces are limited—especially on weekends and sunny days. We’d recommend arriving early to have the best chance of finding a spot.🗺️ If you park nearby it’s about a 5-minute walk to the entrance of the Sorgente della Morica area. Just follow the signs through the village towards the spring.#rometravel #rometrip #romeguide #travelrome Rome day trips | Hidden gems near Rome | Best day trips from Rome | Lazio hidden gems | Sorgente della Morica | Crystal clear spring Italy | Places to visit near Rome | Nature near Rome | Italy road trip | 2-day road trip from Rome | Weekend from Rome | Italy travel guide by @unknownndestinationn

38 million people visit Rome every year… and most never discover one of Italy’s most incredible waterfalls. This was one of the highlights of our road trip from Rome. Comment “ROME” and we’ll send you our 2-day road tripJust 90 minutes from Rome, you’ll find Marmore Waterfalls—the tallest man-made waterfall in Europe, standing 165 metres high and originally built by the Romans over 2,000 years ago.@cascata_delle_marmore There are several walking trails, viewpoints and even paths that take you right beside the waterfalls, where you’ll definitely get soaked.🎟️ Tickets are €12 for adults⏰ One important tip: check the water release timetable before you visit. The waterfall is turned on and off at scheduled times, so planning your visit around the opening times makes all the difference.#rometravel #rometrip #romeguide #travelrome Rome day trips | Hidden gems near Rome | Best day trips from Rome | Lazio hidden gems | Marmore waterfalls | Places to visit near Rome | Nature near Rome | Italy road trip | 2-day road trip from Rome | Weekend from Rome | Italy travel guide by @unknownndestinationn

This tunnel in Spain leas to….Europe’s spectacular canyon that’s just 1 hour away of Malaga@caminitodelrey And hidden inside this dramatic gorge is a trail that was closed for years and was once considered one of the world’s most dangerous. This is Caminito del Rey and one thing we’d recommend? explore it withComment “TOUR” and we’ll send you our 5% discount code to book this experience with GetYourGuide. We honestly didn’t know what to expect before going, but this quickly became one of our favourite days in southern Spain.Walking through the canyon, surrounded by huge cliffs, with the river far below and the mountains all around you, feels like stepping into another world. What we loved most is that it wasn’t just a hike — it was an experience full of history, incredible views, and those moments where you stop and think… “how is this real?”And we didn’t stop there. After the trail, we explored the area by e-bike, riding through forest paths and mountain trails, passing old quarries and climbing above the pine forests for amazing views over El Chorro and the Gaitanes Gorge. If you’re visiting southern Spain, add Caminito del Rey to your list — it’s an adventure you won’t forget. A hidden turquoise paradise just 1 hour from Málaga… Most people head straight to Caminito del Rey, but just a few minutes away you’ll find Embalse Conde del Guadalhorce—one of the most beautiful spots we visited in Andalusia. To explore it, we booked a 2-hour self-guided kayak rental through @getyourguide and honestly, it was one of the most relaxing experiences of our trip. The best part? There are no waves, tides or large boats, so the water stays incredibly calm—perfect whether it’s your first time kayaking or you’re just looking for a peaceful afternoon on the water. Not into kayaking? You can also hire pedal boats, stand-up paddleboards, or simply relax at Playa de Ardales, one of Andalusia’s most beautiful inland beaches with free access. ☀️Comment “TOUR” and we’ll send you our 5% discount code to book this (or any other!) GetYourGuide experience. 🚣💙@getyourguidecommunity#malaga #spaintravel #visitspain #getyourguide #getyourguidecommunityMálaga day trips | Things to do in Málaga | Andalusia travel | El Chorro | Southern Spain | Spain road trip | Things to do in Andalusia | Hidden gems in Spain | Day trips from Málaga | Day trips from Seville | Spain travel guide | Spain bucket list | Best villages in Spain | Unique places in Spain | Spain hidden gems | Visit Andalusia by @unknownndestinationn

National Geographic named this one of Spain’s most beautiful villages… so we had to see it for ourselves 👀This is Zahara de la Sierra, a whitewashed village perched high above a turquoise reservoir in the heart of Andalusia.Named one of Spain’s most beautiful villages by National Geographic in 2024, it’s easy to see why.Tiny winding streets, flower-filled corners, breathtaking viewpoints and a hilltop castle overlooking the mountains make it feel like a real-life postcard. We visited as part of our Andalusia road trip, and honestly, it lives up to the hype. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was surprisingly empty and without any crowds. If you’re exploring southern Spain, don’t just visit the big cities. Make time for Zahara de la Sierra—you won’t regret it. 💙Save this for your next Spain road trip.#zaharadelasierra #andalucia #visitspain #pueblosblancos #southernspain Zahara de la Sierra | Andalucía | White Villages of Spain | Pueblos Blancos | Spain road trip | Things to do in Andalusia | Hidden gems in Spain | Day trips from Málaga | Day trips from Seville | Spain travel guide | Spain bucket list | Most beautiful villages in Spain | Visit Andalusia by @unknownndestinationn
