For years, we’ve been sounding the alarm on how institutions—whether schools, police, or nonprofits—use progressive language to mask their role in upholding oppression. Now, a coalition of educators, organizers, and students is demanding that schools drop the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) from education programs, citing its deep ties to Zionism, surveillance, and policing of social movements.

We at Parenting Is Political, Generation Common Good, and the other organizations we lead have been core supporters of this campaign, standing firm in the belief that education should be a site of liberation, not a tool for repression. This is not our first time taking action. In the original Drop The ADL campaign, I personally gave up a prestigious fellowship in solidarity with Palestine and in rejection of the ADL’s harmful role in our communities.

Now, we continue that fight. Parents, students, and educators deserve safety, truth, and education that does not come at the cost of Palestinian lives or the repression of movements for justice. We refuse to let our children’s education be shaped by an organization that collaborates with police, smears Black and Palestinian organizers, and upholds white supremacy under the guise of “anti-hate” work.

The ADL has no place in our schools. We demand educational institutions cut ties NOW.
