Episode 1: Forgets Nothing

In this clip, Delmz reminds us that your voice matters.

Everything you do is important. Don’t let anyone make you feel less than.
No matter your tribe.. Crow, Diné, Lakota, reconnect with your language, your culture, your ancestors.

That’s where the pride and power live. That’s how we remember. We belong here. This is our place. by @unmuted.nations

The Fourth of July is a lie wrapped in fireworks. It’s a celebration built on stolen land, broken treaties, and ongoing genocide. It’s a mask hiding the brutal truth of colonial violence, systemic racism, and oppression that still targets Indigenous peoples, people of color, and all marginalized communities.

Today, while lives are threatened, our communities exploited, and our voices ignored, their so-called freedom is nothing but injustice and greed.

Let the Fourth be a day to reject their celebration. A day to call out the cruelty of capitalism that profits from the pain of others and fuels inequality across all oppressed peoples. by @unmuted.nations

Relatives, I’m excited to bring you the Unmuted Nations Podcast! I’m even more excited to share that Delmer Forgets Nothing was the very first guest to be on the pod!! Delmz Forgets Nothing is a passionate advocate for the Lakota language. Delmz shares his journey of learning the Lakota language, the importance of cultural identity, and the challenges he faced, including personal loss and addiction. He emphasizes the significance of community support, the role of male figures in nurturing relationships, and the empowerment that comes from reconnecting with our language. As many of you know, Delmz’s story is one of resilience, healing, and the power of language to bridge generations. I’m so appreciative of Delmz for sharing his story and always being a relative of care, humor, and transparency to our community! After one hour of recording we sat and talked for another 2 hours off camera about our community, the challenges of our people, and how we’re becoming better individuals for the people we love. I’m grateful for Delmz friendship.

The episode will be dropping this week! by @unmuted.nations

Hosted by Jillian Kristan Waln - Sicangu Lakota Winyan, storyteller, and community-rooted creative.
Unmuted Nations is a space for Indigenous voices to be heard not just in resistance but in insight, humor, and healing.

Through solo episodes and thoughtful conversations with Indigenous relatives who are walking in their purpose, we’ll discuss what it means to live in our strength and create the Indigenous valued world we’ve always known was possible.

It’s honest, it’s uplifting, and sometimes it’s just straight-up chill conversational vibes.

Being unmuted means being unapologetically heard. And our Nations? We are more powerful together. We’ve never been voiceless, we’re just ready for the mic! 🎙️ by @unmuted.nations
