One of those moments that doesn’t quite feel real… This week, UnoEth is exhibiting at our very first wholesale trade show: Shoppe Object in New York. 🤍 After 11 years of building this brand alongside artisans in Ethiopia, being here feels incredibly special. The past few days have been a whirlwind of setup, problem-solving, long hours, and very little sleep—but we’re having the best time. I’m an Oakland-based entrepreneur, marketing consultant, and the co-founder of UnoEth— an ethically made accessories brand I started with my Pops over 11 years ago. We work with our artisan partners in Ethiopia (and beyond!) to create leather goods, accessories, home goods + more. Found in Addis ✨ Pops and I came across these handwoven straw wall basket sets at a local marketplace earlier this year and had to share them with you all. Five weeks. That’s how much time we had. 😅 Five weeks before @shoppeobject ShoppeObject, we got the opportunity to bring UnoEth to NYC for our very first trade show— and truthfully, we had NO idea how we were going to pull it off. The inventory. The booth. The travel. The logistics. Getting everything (and everyone 😂) to New York. There were a whole lot of details to figure out and not a whole lot of time to figure them out. But we said yes anyway. And somehow, piece by piece, everything came together. The booth came to life exactly how we envisioned it. We met incredible buyers, fellow founders and new friends. We introduced UnoEth to so many new people, had conversations that left us excited about what’s next, explored NYC in between it all, and genuinely had the BEST time doing it. It was hectic. It was exhausting. It was exciting. And it was absolutely worth the leap. 11 years into building this brand and we’re still being reminded that sometimes the opportunity comes before the plan. 11 years of UnoEth, packed into a few suitcases and one booth. A little behind the scenes of bringing our very first @shoppeobject booth to life — boxes, bags, tools, signage, steaming, styling, rearranging… and then rearranging it one more time. 😂 There’s SO much that happens before the doors ever open, and watching a blank space slowly turn into our little corner of UnoEth made all the hauling, planning and long days worth it. Our first trade show is officially in the books, and we’re leaving NYC tired, grateful, inspired, and very excited for what’s next. From Addis to Oakland to NYC. ✨ taken in New York City by @unoeth
