Your generosity helps us shape the next generation of dental professionals, and provide critical care to underserved communities. Every gift, big or small, brings brighter smiles and healthier lives. Be part of #UGivingDays and help us continue to build a healthier tomorrow.

Every donation, every share, every act of kindness counts.

Our second Dental Assistant cohort officially completed the program on August 24th. We are excited to see the positive impact these graduates will have on patients, providers, and the dental community. Several students had already accepted employment offers before graduation, a testament to their hard work and the strong demand for well-trained dental assistants. 🎓🦷

Applications for the next cohort are open. If you're interested in becoming a part of this exciting program, head to the link in our bio! A group of dental assistants posing for a photo by @uofudentistry

Oral care is important during pregnancy. Hormonal changes can cause increased risk of gum inflammation. If left untreated, studies have shown periodontal disease can cause premature birth and low birth weight.
The School of Dentistry's Dr. Brenda Heaton recently appeared on @kutvbabyyourbaby to give helpful information about the importance of oral care if you are pregnant, or are thinking about becoming pregnant.

Last Saturday, we participated in the Healthy Start West Valley event in Centennial Park, a great opportunity for families to get health screenings and learn about Utah health resources.

Our volunteers were able to screen 49 patients, perform 40 fluoride applications, provide 18 child dental cleanings, and complete 16 sealant applications. We hope to see you at our next event! #UofUHealth #ADEA #UDA #UofU #UUSOD by @uofudentistry
