POSTS STORIES REELS
Science and exploration came to life at Ozarks earlier this week. On Thursday, the university welcomed nearly 150 students from 20 area high schools to campus for Science Day! Throughout the day, students got up close with snakes, watched experiments spark to life through fiery demonstrations, built their own miniature ecosystems, explored the world of elephant research, and so much more! They also had the opportunity to connect with Ozarks faculty and staff, learn more about the university admission process, and get a glimpse at college life. From fascinating experiments to getting their hands dirty with real-world science, students had the chance to experience firsthand that learning at Ozarks goes far beyond the classroom. Thank you to all of the students, faculty and staff who made this exciting day of discovery possible! by @uozarks

Sunday Stories - Jason Schwartz, a sophomore here at Ozarks, rediscovered his passion for acting in the Ozarks theatre department. “Even though I’m majoring in mathematics, after I graduate, I’m hoping to become an actor,” Jason said. Jason credits Dr. David Strain, professor of English, for inspiring him to pursue his new minor in theatre. “He told me, ‘Just do it, it’s not going to hurt you. If you really find something interesting, you’ll never know if you love it until you try it’,” Jason said. “Since I was a little kid, I’ve always wanted to be an actor. And that’s where most of my time goes now!” “Dr. Strain just gave me that push I needed to try something new.” That is the beauty of the LENS Program; Jason said his favorite part about Ozarks is how he gets to major in his first career choice but also has the freedom to explore other subjects that he might not have otherwise. Jason shares his mother’s love of small town communities, which is what ultimately drew him to study in Clarksville, Arkansas. “At Ozarks, you’re not just a number. You get to develop a relationship with your teachers. I know all of my teachers, where all of their offices are, and they know me. I have friends at big schools who say, ‘yeah, I don’t think my teacher even knows my name’,” he said. “That’s what I love about Ozarks.” by @uozarks

Cue the crisp mornings and cozy afternoons. 🍂💜🦅 Happy first day of fall, Ozarks! by @uozarks
Last week, University of the Ozarks Career Services partnered with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals for a sports career night at the Arvest Ballpark in Springdale. Students of a wide range of backgrounds, interests, and majors were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the facilities. The Naturals’ press box was a definite favorite for Ozarks’ sports media team! While there, students got to meet the crew that makes game-day at the ballpark happen. The tour ended with a picture on the field, a warm welcome on the billboard behind them, and then back to the stands to enjoy the minor league game. A special thank you goes to Mark Zaiger, assistant general manager at the stadium, who spoke with career-oriented students to answer questions and share insights into the sports and hospitality industries, as well as everyone who made this event possible. by @uozarks
