I was beyond grateful to be nominated from Youthline to take part in the Westfield Local Heroes and now I’m even more grateful as I am a finalist! 🙏🏼

I have given my all into my role as a Youth Development worker for the past 4 years and continue to support the mahi that we do as an organisation. Some days are tougher than others but having the opportunity to support our rangatahi make it all worth it.

I see daily the work that myself, Youthline and my amazing team (shout out Waitematā) do for the community and have had the opportunity to make connections with hundreds of rangatahi across Auckland.

And let’s be honest we’ve all been there, adolescence can be a really hard time to navigate and sometimes we just needed someone to help us find our path a bit. I wish services like this were available when I was growing up, but now that they are the demand for it has been huge and I’d way rather someone spend an hour with me than wagging in the school bathrooms IYKYK 😅

Now it’s my time to ask that people vote so that we are able to support those that need it the most. If I am able to win this generous funding then I know how many lives this will positively impacted.

It’s not easy working for a charity organisation but when opportunities like this come up it’s important to try my absolute hardest to access the funding that Youthline deserves so please take 2 mins out of your day and follow the link in my bio to vote, it would mean the world to me and to the rangatahi that will benefit.
