As seasons shift, so do we.

Autumn reminds us that every end carries the seed of a new beginning.

In this 1-day Expressive Arts workshop, we pause to reflect on this process of transition.

Where am I and how can I move towards change?
What do I need to let go of, like autumn leaves?
What would you release? What would you hold?
What in me needs nurture to help it transition?
How can I set new intentions and lean into change?

An accessible option for our clients.
And a community that grows together.

Grief. One moment you’re okay, another you’re in a parallel universe and you can’t see, hear, or be anywhere other than the grief itself.

It’s all encompassing and can be emotionally overwhelming. From loneliness to confusion, guilt to anger, numbness to identity disruption.

Many individuals feel pressure to “move on” before they’re ready. You don’t need to feel that here.

This support group aims to normalize grief experiences while supporting participants in moving through loss at their own pace.

You’ll gain greater understanding of your experience with the right emotional support, from our group facilitator and other participants. by @up_therapy

Parenting is hard, beautiful, complex, rewarding, challenging, all encompassing.

Every single day it takes real courage to show up, even when you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and questioning what you’re doing.

Grounded in evidence-based developmental psychology, our Positive Discipline workshop series isn’t about perfection it’s about the journey of showing up. Showing up for your kids, and just as importantly, showing up for yourself.

You don’t have to navigate it alone. We’re here to build a supportive community where we can share the reality of raising kids while learning practical, research-backed tools to make the daily chaos a little calmer and a lot more connection-focused.

Join us for our upcoming session, you don’t want to miss this one.

Understanding a child or adult’s needs starts with understanding how they experience the world.

At Up, we now offer professional assessments with Psych Nour Hamed, MSc, designed to provide a clearer picture of attention, behavior, sensory processing, and more.

Our assessments include:

🧠 ADHD Assessment
Exploring attention, focus, impulsivity, hyperactivity, and executive functioning.

🌿 Sensory Profile Assessment
Understanding how children respond to and process sensory experiences in their everyday environments.

The right assessment can be an important step toward understanding what support may be needed.

It’s a hard topic to bring up.
It’s a hard word to land on our eyes.

We see the word suicide and it shakes us. Whether you have lost someone by suicide or know someone who has, this word carries a lot of weight. Even for clinicians, its a word that sits with us.

And this reaction tells us something important: it is deeply painful to acknowledge the level of suffering a person can be in when they feel there is no way out—when ending their life feels like the only option left.

And although this is a heavier post to share - its one of the most important ones to put out there.

Professionals are here to support, and trained to do so.

So if you or someone you know is struggling, please know that help exists and you do not have to navigate this alone.

اطلبوا المساعدة. by @up_therapy

Sometimes, we need a moment to slow down.
Sometimes, we need a little longer to find our way back to ourselves.

Our Expressive Arts workshops offer two ways to pause, reconnect, and create space within.

1-Day Expressive Arts Workshop
A gentle one-day experience using clay, breath, and movement to practice grounding, relaxation, and steadiness — and take a little more calm back into daily life.

4-Session Expressive Arts Program
A deeper journey through clay, movement, breath, creative writing, and art-making, exploring how to create safety within, respond rather than react, and build an internal sense of home.

Choose the space that feels right for you.

Missing someone doesn’t always mean we should go back or reconnect.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is remember precisely why you left the last time.

Before wondering if this is the ‘right person’ for you, ask: Are they even the right friend?

Remember that long lasting connections are the ones built on emotional safety, consistent presence, and healthy companionship.

Understand your grief, work though whats hurting, but maybe accept that this time you watch the tides without necessarily jumping back in. by @up_therapy

Part of what we discuss with clients in session is finding alternative ways to experience and express their emotions and thoughts.

We’re bringing this to life at Up.

In our beautiful space and multipurpose room, we’ve put together a series to walk you through the rest of the year.

This September we’re opening a new season of expressive arts — four months, four themes.

We’ll start by (re)grounding ourselves in September, move through the changes October brings, sit gently with our sensitivity in November, and close the year by returning to ourselves, to each other, and to what matters in December.

Each month is a space to feel, create, and be held — writing, clay work, art work, breathwork, movement and body work — no experience needed, just an open heart.

Stay tuned each month as we post our schedule of events.

We’re ready to start something new with you. by @up_therapy

Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is put your phone down.

Attention is a muscle and constant phone checking trains our brain to seek novelty - making sustained focus more difficult over time.

Scrolling has become a form of avoidance,: an escape from boredom or loneliness. It’s often become our go-to way of passing time.

But when our attention lives outside of us - in feeds, in other people’s lives, in worlds that aren’t ours - when are we actually with ourselves? by @up_therapy

Not every friendship is meant to stay the same.

Some people become part of a specific season, and that’s okay.

Instead of asking why things changed, maybe ask what that friendship gave you while it lasted.

Sometimes relationships serve a purpose—even if they don’t last forever. by @up_therapy

Your life isn’t behind because it doesn’t look like someone else’s.
Our brains are wired to benchmark against visible peers, not against our own actual timeline, so “behind” is often just a perception distortion, not a fact.
You’re on your own path, moving at the pace you actually need. by @up_therapy
