POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Friday night was about more than just costumes, candy, and Halloween fun. It was about community, connection, and raising awareness for domestic violence. 💜

Coach Bowen, Addison Molampy, Kelsey Bradford, Isabella Edwards, Baeza Demeke, and Isabella Scarfino proudly represented Pitt-Bradford Women’s Lacrosse at CCA’s Trunk or Treat in Salamanca, NY!

Our program believes that being a student-athlete goes far beyond what happens on the lacrosse field. It’s about using our platform to make a difference, supporting important causes, giving back to our communities, and being positive role models for the next generation.

Domestic violence awareness is an important reminder that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported. We are proud to participate in an event that not only brings families together but also helps shine a light on an issue that impacts so many individuals and families.

A huge thank you to CCA for bringing the community together for a night of Halloween fun while promoting such an important message! 🎃🍬💜

We aren’t just building lacrosse players. We’re building leaders, advocates, and people who understand the importance of giving back.

💙💛 More Than a Game. More Than a Team. One Panther Family.

Today, Pitt-Bradford Women’s Lacrosse proudly recognizes Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a day to honor the history, resilience, cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island.

For our program, this day holds a special meaning. We are proud to have Coach Ty, Coach Frank, and Sammi as members of our Panther family, each carrying Indigenous roots and a connection to a game that means so much more than what happens on the field.

We play a game rooted in Indigenous history. We honor the people who gave us this gift. And we carry that legacy forward 🐾🥍🧡💜 by @upb_wlax

🧡 EVERY CHILD MATTERS 🧡

Today, Pitt-Bradford Women’s Lacrosse stands together in remembrance, reflection, and education.

Every Child Matters honors the Indigenous children who were taken from their families and communities and forced into residential and boarding schools, those who never returned home, and the survivors and families who continue to carry the impact of that history.

For our program, this is more than wearing orange. It is personal.

Head Coach Tyrone Bowen-Collateta, a member of the Seneca Nation, carries this history within his own family. His great-grandfather and Great Uncle were survivors of the Thomas Indian School. Those experiences are not simply chapters in a history book. they are part of the stories, families, and communities that continue to live with their legacy today.

This day also holds personal meaning within the families of Coach Frank and Sammi, making our commitment to Every Child Matters something that reaches throughout our Panther family.

As a lacrosse program, we also understand the responsibility that comes with playing this game. Lacrosse is the Creator’s Game, a gift originating with Indigenous peoples and carried through generations. We believe that honoring the game means learning where it comes from, respecting the people who protected and carried it, and using our platform to educate others.

We remember the children who never made it home.

We honor the survivors who did.

We stand with the families and communities who continue to carry their stories.

And we commit ourselves to ensuring those stories are never forgotten.

For Coach Bowen, Coach Frank, Sammi, and our entire Panther family, Every Child Matters is not just something we recognize for one day. It is something we carry forward through remembrance, education, and action.

🧡 Every child mattered. Every child matters. Every child will always matter. 🧡 by @upb_wlax

Pitt-Bradford Women’s Lacrosse is proud to continue an event our program helped start, bringing our campus and surrounding community together to remember, learn, and honor Indigenous children, survivors, families, and communities impacted by the Indian boarding school system.

🎥 MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 | 5–7 PM
Join us in the Duke Lobby for a free screening of Unspoken, a powerful film examining the history and lasting legacy of the federal Indian boarding school system.

Following the film, Coach Tyrone Bowen-Collateta and Rodney Valandra will lead a community discussion focused on education, reflection, and why this history continues to matter today.

👕 EVERY CHILD MATTERS SHIRTS | $20
Official awareness shirts will be available September 28–30 from 11 AM–1 PM in the Commons.

🧡 WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 | 5 PM
We invite the entire Pitt-Bradford campus and surrounding community to join us for our Day of Remembrance Campus Walk.

📍 Begins at “The Loop” outside the back entrance of the Commons
🧡 Please wear orange.

As a lacrosse program, this week carries special meaning. We play a game that is an Indigenous gift, and we believe honoring that gift means continuing to learn about, respect, and recognize the people and history from which it comes.

Come watch. Come learn. Come walk with us.

A University of Pittsburgh education just became even more accessible.

Through the Pitt Tuition Pledge, eligible Pennsylvania students with a household adjusted gross income of $75,000 or less can pay $0 in tuition at Pitt-Bradford.

There’s no separate application, simply complete your FAFSA each year. After eligible federal, state, and institutional aid is applied, Pitt covers the remaining tuition. The pledge is available to new, current, and transfer students who qualify.

For our future Panthers, this is another reason to take a serious look at everything Pitt-Bradford has to offer: a University of Pittsburgh education, NCAA Division III athletics, a close-knit campus community, and now an even more affordable path toward your degree.

🥍 2027s, 2028s, 2029s & transfers: If Pitt-Bradford Women’s Lacrosse is on your radar, reach out. We’d love to talk about our program, academics, and what becoming a Panther could look like for you.

Pitt Forged. Bradford Inspired. 💙💛 by @upb_wlax
