These words from Hafiz Musa Jitmoud reflect the heart behind the growing Salam Scouts Outdoor Program.

In partnership with Matt Fox and @upriseconservation this program is being thoughtfully built to blend outdoor education, environmental stewardship, Islamic teachings, and the Sunnah into meaningful experiences for our youth. 🌿

At Salam Scouts, we believe the outdoors are one of the greatest classrooms Allah has created. Through nature, scouts will learn confidence, responsibility, reflection, and their role as caretakers of the earth.

Meet Suri.
Our black throat monitor who knows exactly when it’s feeding time… because she’s trained to follow the color blue

💙One thing we’re really proud of is our staff.

A lot of time, patience, and effort goes into working with these animals every day. Building trust, learning behaviors, cleaning, feeding, training… it all adds up.

Suri being trained to follow blue didn’t just magically happen. It took consistency and a team that truly cares about these animals and their wellbeing. We’re lucky to have people who put that kind of effort in every single day.

Tales of #AYearByTheArch
April is going by fast and I can barely catch up with social media activity and posting. I found myself more focusing on living the present moment outside in great company than hiding behind my phone scrolling mindlessly! Earlier today, Neide and I explored @stlouisearthday festival in Forest Park! We got the opportunity to be creative - building flowers crowns out of recycled kids painting and block print with @themagichouse , roam around the Muny grounds, meet two alpacas 🦙, see beautiful rescue chicken 🐓 enjoying freedom and sunlight in a stroller thanks to the wonderful work of 2nd.hend, meet @upriseconservation resident biologist @foxxy_dream who introduced us to a Yellow Spotted Salamander while his partner introduced us to a beautiful snake (I sadly can’t remember the specie) named Peanut Butter. The festival continues tomorrow and trust me, you do not want to miss it! taken in The Muny by @upriseconservation
