𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱? 🏔️

Here’s the thing most people don’t realize about Buena Vista: very few of us showed up as experts. We were just curious adventurers. And then we stayed.

So we put together a guide to trying something new in BV. Paddling, fly fishing, climbing, backcountry education, and the local crews who’ll make you feel at home. Swipe through for where to start. The full story is on the blog (link in bio).

Huge thanks to @rocky_mountain_outdoor_center @upriverflyfishing @bvmountainadventures @garnacolorado @bvsingletrack @cks_riversupply @thetrailheadco @trail_sisters for helping this town get people outside 🙌❤️

What’s the one thing you’ve always wanted to try out here? 👇

Nothing signals the approach of Fall like a colored up Brookie from a mountain stream.
Yesterday @atwood.outside had the pleasure of catching and releasing this beautiful specimen.

Temps are cooling, and the rivers and streams are fishing much better than a few weeks ago. Get after it!

We have freshened up our fishing report, follow the link in our bio.
Pictured are Upriver staff Conner @_cgstephens_ and Ben @ben_ford_40 displaying an awesome alpine cutty double!
Fishing is good on the Ark. Water temps are back in a more ideal range, and the high country trout are happy and feeding.
Stop by or give us a call to get the intel you need to be successful out here in central CO. Thanks for supporting Upriver!

What beautiful Arkansas River 🌈. UpRiver guide @yourguide_moneymike putting his float client #bigfishbob on this great fish!

This season has had its ups and downs but I think anyone that has come fishing will agree there's been way more ups than downs.

Things are cooling off and flows are back to levels we see this time of year most years. There are still a couple of our favorite months of the fishing season to come!

Give us a call if you want to book a float or wade trip on the #arkansasriver this fall we would love to get you out!

Happy August everyone!
We updated our fishing report, and dropped a new YouTube video that discusses current conditions in the upper Arkansas River valley. Click the link in our bio to watch!
Things are warm out there! Take advantage of fishing in the cooler morning temps. Consider calling it quits in the early afternoon. We are all responsible for taking care of our fishery, so let’s use our noggins!
Thanks for supporting Upriver!

The best days on the Arkansas don’t end at the river.

Our friends at @upriverflyfishing spend their days helping anglers discover the best of the Arkansas River, from first casts to trophy trout. Whether you’re new to fly fishing or chasing your next big catch, there’s no better way to experience the Ark than with a local guide.

𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘧𝘧, 𝘸𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘵.

Celebrate the day with a cold 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗲—brewed right here in Buena Vista for days spent chasing fish, floating rivers, and making memories.

Here’s to great guides, prime fly fishing, and gold medal beer. 🍻🎣

Beat the heat this weekend with a hike into the high country. Alpine lake season is in full swing and a short or long hike can get you to some amazing Cutthroat water here in Chaffee county. The Buena Vista area is surrounded by hundreds of alpine lakes ready for you to explore!

Our staff at UpRiver Fly Fishing has spent thousands of days in the Alpine pursuing these amazing fish. Do some research and find a few lakes that interest you and stop by the shop with questions. We will give you the best and up to date information we have on these remote lakes.

We also offer fully guided Alpine lake 4x4 adventures, book a trip and let our experienced guides do the leg work for you!
