I’ve been putting off writing this because I still don’t quite know how to say it.

After six years, August will be the final show at Geheim Gallery.

I opened Geheim with my friend Desi in 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic. We wanted to bring something honest and contemporary to Bellingham, and over the years the gallery became so much more than I ever expected.

We hosted more than 70 solo and group exhibitions featuring local, regional, and national artists. More importantly, the space brought so many people into my life. It challenged me, inspired me, and gave me friendships and memories I will carry forever.

To every artist who trusted me, every person who came to an opening, helped install a show, shared a post, bought a piece, or simply walked through the door, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You made this possible for six years.

I am heartbroken to see this chapter end, but so grateful it existed. Please join us for one final gathering on First Friday, August 7. Come cry with me and tell me your favorite show or time you’ve had at the gallery.

My days in the art world are not over. I plan to keep curating pop ups, art fairs, online exhibitions, and whatever comes next.

Thank you for six years of art, friendship, community, and love. ❤️🫶

Love,

Install photos from our two-person exhibition, “Touching Grass”
Works by Alex-Moni Sauri @a.moni.sauri and Oscar Pearson @oscarpearson_
The show is up at @geheimgallery in Bellingham, WA through July 27th.

“Touching Grass” gathers paintings, drawings, and sculptures by artists Alex Moni-Sauri, and Oscar Pearson that reconnect our common senses with the earth, other mammals, and the rhythms that shape our lives. Breath, pulse, blood, and play move through the exhibition as shared experiences across bodies. Large paintings invite viewers to move across their surfaces, rhythmically shifting between abstraction and representation, while sculptural and drawn figures listen, recline, and encounter insects and animal remains with curiosity. The works invoke sensory immersion and sustained attention, drawing focus to the vast interspecies exchange that human life is embedded in.

Thank Jackson @upsetcowboy for the opportunity to show this project. taken in Geheim Gallery by @upsetcowboy

@andy.delapp ‘s first solo show titled “Hang in there, baby!” opens tomorrow, June 5th from 5-9pm!

“Andy DeLapp is a trans-masculine artist based in Seattle, WA. He established his career while achieving his BFA from Cornish College of the Arts in 2023, where he discovered his practice as a representational oil painter. After completing an internship in object conservation at the Seattle Art Museum, art history became an inspiration and a central part of Andy’s practice. In 2025, he was named a finalist in Neddy Artist Awards and was recognized as a Highly Commended Artist in the Homiens Art Prize, an international artist grant.”

“Inspired by the Western painting cannon, chaotic digital media, and my queer identity, I layer classical painting techniques with contemporary symbols to playfully weave queerness into art history. I create references for my paintings by creating collages either digitally or from printed images. These materials allow me to engage in a low-stakes process where I can focus on spontaneity and iteration rather than perfection. By blending art history and my contemporary mindset, I insert queer representation within both historical and contemporary art.“ taken in Geheim Gallery by @upsetcowboy

TOMORROW in Bellingham, WA: “AI INDIAN & SUPER KREYOLA”

New paintings by Erlin Geffrard & Spencer Keeton Cunningham

Opening reception
May 1st at Geheim Gallery
5-9pm
1228 Bay St.
Bellingham, Washington

Exhibition runs from May 1st-24th

Drawing comparisons to iconic duos such as Simon & Garfunkel, Hall & Oates, and the artist pairing Basquiat and Warhol (although Erlin refers to Spencer as Basquiat and himself as Warhol). The collaborative work of Erlin Geffrard and Spencer Keeton Cunningham belongs to a long lineage of influential creative partnerships.

Over the past two decades, Geffrard and Cunningham have developed a body of work that critically examines the enduring legacies of colonization in the Americas, exposing the fractures within the American Dream—particularly as they affect Black and Indigenous communities. Their practice blends humor with urgency, addressing themes such as climate change, cultural memory, gentrification, and Indigenous sovereignty. Their work is a humorous mirrored reflection of the ills of an American dream that left the black and indigenous populations disenfranchised.

Erlin Geffrard, a Haitian American artist, and Spencer Keeton Cunningham, a member of the Colville Tribe of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, have worked together for nearly 20 years, primarily in the Bay Area and beyond. Their paintings and multimedia works are rooted in personal and cultural narratives, exploring land reclamation, alternate histories and futures, and the reimagining of identity.

Their joint exhibitions have included institutions such as San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Wenying Highland Art Museum in Guangzhou, China, among others.

Recent initiatives extend beyond the gallery, including a revitalization project centered in Gary, Indiana.

Their latest exhibition, AI INDIAN & SUPER KREYOLA, represents an evolution of their collaborative identity. Presented in Bellingham and continuing in Seattle at Railspur Studios, the exhibition will include an interactive performance engaging directly with audiences. by @upsetcowboy

“Everything Comes in Threes” takes its name from a phrase I grew up hearing. My mom always said that life moves in patters of three. The good, the bad, grief. Whatever it is, it rarely arrives alone.
This group exhibition brings together artists working across different mediums to reflect on repetition, cycles, and the ways experiences tend to cluster and compound. Each artist presents three works, reinforcing the structure of the show. Some works lean into personal moments, others into broader emotional or conceptual patterns, but all circle the idea that nothing exists in isolation.
“Everything Comes in Threes” sits in that tension, where meaning builds through recurrence, and where moments gain weight the second and third time around.
The exhibition features work by: Andrea Heimer, Melissa Boersma, Peter Scherrer, Pascal Foley, Cara Jaye, Ryan Kelly, James Maye, Holly Hudson and Graham Franciose.
