THE MOST INCREDIBLE WILD BROWN TROUT I HAVE EVER CAUGHT!! This stud came from a tiny NY stream where my prior PB was 15”. An absolutely absurd fish for this creek. A true trophy buck of a wild brown trout! Feeling so blessed to shake hands with this brute! • • #flyfishing #browntrout #outdoors #upstateny #reel by @upstateflyfishing

GIANT INLAND WILD BROWN TROUT! The long hours and countless days grinding for a fish like this finally paid off. Shaking and emotions through the roof. I am so happy to be able to share such a special fish with you all!! Shoutout to @goodr for the best glasses in the game, @fenwickfishing Aetos 9ft 5wt rod for holding up, @simmsfishing for the wet wading boots, @orvisflyfishing for the reel, and @lidrig for the wrist accessory! • • #wild #browntrout #giant #specialday #trophyfish by @upstateflyfishing

Wear your sunglasses!! 1. The polarized lenses help to minimize the glare and allow you to spot fish before you stumble upon them and spook them! 2. They might just save your eye one day from getting a fly stuck in it! No matter how good you are, none of us are perfect! A floating piece of debris flings your fly, an unexpected gust of wind, or simply a poor cast that you did not realize was poor until it was too late! Shoutout @goodr for these glasses! They’re incredibly durable and the polarized lenses really make spotting fish easy!! • • #wearyourglasses #goodr #goodrglasses #flyfishing #browntrout by @upstateflyfishing

KING SALMON ON THE FLY! Testing out the brand new Pescador On The Fly 9’ 8wt rod and reel! Overall an incredible set up! The rod is super lightweight for an 8wt rod with a solid backbone. The reel sounds beautiful when fish are peeling and has numerous settings to dial in your drag! This was a salmon hooked at sunset that took me for a ride. Down the rapids, under multiple logjams, wrapping boulders, the whole lot. Every time I got it out from a snag, this fish was already another 70 yards down stream. By far the craziest fight I have ever experienced! • • #pescadoronthefly #king #salmon #flyfishing #ad by @upstateflyfishing

Camouflage at its finest! The Eastern Comma Butterfly! Unlike migratory butterflies, adult eastern commas overwinter by hibernating under loose tree bark, in woodpiles, or within leaf litter and hollow logs, emerging on warm winter or early spring days. • • #butterfly #commabutterfly #nature #camouflage #fallfoliage by @upstateflyfishing

Down in PA for the weekend and man does this place produce. Lots of fish and incredible streams to explore! These fish were caught on one stream in the span of an hour. Fishing has been incredible this fall! Rainbow trout may not be the most sought after fish by many PA anglers but we do not get a lot of them where I am from. Had a blast fishing for these guys with their aerial jumps! • • #rainbowtrout #flyfishing #pawilds #outdoors #fallvibes by @upstateflyfishing

POV CATCHING A NEW SPECIES ON A FLY? This dragonfly wanted my nymph so bad that it divebombed my flies mid air and took an aerial midge perdigon… which he then dropped and snagged into his torso. A pet dragonfly! • • #dragonfly #flies #flyfishing #nymph #nymphing by @upstateflyfishing
