#FBF | YESTERDAY'S PRICE IS NOT TODAY'S PRICE. 🎬🚁

"Yesterday's price is not today's price."

Fat Joe said it. Pusha T brought it into "Diet Coke." And today, those words carry a different meaning.

Another Friday. Another journey through the archives.

Drone flights.
Behind-the-scenes moments.
Film productions.
Community events.
Different places. Different people. Different experiences.

Every moment contributed something.

A lesson.
A relationship.
A new perspective.
An opportunity to grow.

The equipment has evolved.
The storytelling has evolved.
The opportunities have evolved.
And so have I.

But the foundation remains the same.

Gratitude. Intention. Purpose. Consistency.

Yesterday's price isn't just about money.

It's about experience earned, lessons learned, relationships built, and the value of showing up when nobody was watching.

Still learning.
Still building.
Still evolving.

Because growth isn't about forgetting where you started. It's about honoring the journey while raising the standard.

And the work continues. 🎥

#FBF | FROM THE FRIENDLY SKIES — AUSTIN, TX 🚁

Taking another trip through the archives.

This time, Austin, Texas.
Circa 2023.

Skateboards.
BMX bikes.
Scooters.
Graffiti.
And a whole lot of movement.

Just a few overhead drone shots from the skate park, watching people do what they love.

Different ages.
Different styles.
Different levels of experience.

But all sharing the same space.

There's something special about places like these.

They bring people together through creativity, movement, practice, and a shared appreciation for the culture.

From above, you see it all come together from a different perspective.

No interviews.
No elaborate production.
Just people, their passions, and a camera capturing a moment.

Another place.
Another experience.
Another memory from the archives.

From the Friendly Skies…

#TBT | DIFFERENT WALLS. SAME LOVE. 🎨🎥

Going through the archives again, pulling together a few moments from the different graffiti events we've had the opportunity to document.

Different locations.
Different artists.
Different generations.
Same love for the culture.

One thing I've come to appreciate throughout this journey is that the art is only part of the story.

It's the conversations between artists.
The friendships.
The laughter.
The exchange of knowledge.
The hours of dedication that go into creating something meaningful.

And sometimes, it's simply being there, watching people do what they love.

I've learned so much from the people who have welcomed us into their spaces, shared their experiences, and trusted us to document their world.

These aren't just clips from past events.

They're moments in time, pieces of history, and reminders of why we started this journey.

Much love and respect to every artist, organizer, and community member who keeps this culture alive.

We're still learning.
Still documenting.
Still building relationships.

And there's so much more to come.

THOUGHTFUL TUESDAY.

Sometimes you're so busy working toward the next thing that you forget to stop and acknowledge how far you've already come.

Degrees.
Certificates.
Programs completed.
And still more work ahead.

This isn't about boasting.

It's about taking a moment to recognize the hours, the late nights, the sacrifices, the assignments, the doubts, the mistakes, and the decision to keep going anyway.

None of these happened overnight.

And none of them happened without work.

I've spent a lot of time focused on what's next.

Today, I'm giving myself permission to appreciate what I've already earned.

Not the pieces of paper.

The growth behind them.

Still learning.
Still working.
Still becoming.

But today…

I'm taking a moment to count the blessings and acknowledge that some of the hard work is paying off.

That's it. That's the thought.

#FBF | TSK

A little look back at some of the TSK moments we've had the opportunity to document throughout this year and summer.

Different events.
Different walls.
Different moments.

But the same thing keeps standing out—the people, the culture, the history, and the relationships behind the art.

What started with a camera and an opportunity to document has grown into something much deeper.

Access takes time.

Trust takes time.

And we're grateful every time we're invited back into these spaces to simply observe, listen, and capture what's happening around us.

These are a few moments from the journey that brought us to another TSK gathering on October 1, 2026.

More from that one soon.

#TBT | MAN OF THE PEOPLE

Going through the archives again, and I started noticing something in the footage we've captured with SEN-1 at different events.

It's not always about the art.

Sometimes it's what happens around it.

The conversations.
The handshakes.
The laughs.
The stories.
The people who come over just to say hello.
The respect between generations.

I've watched SEN move through a lot of different spaces, and one thing has remained pretty consistent:

He makes time for people.

That's why I'm calling these little excerpts “Man of the People.”

Because sometimes the most revealing footage isn't the interview.

It's what happens when someone doesn't realize the camera is telling another part of their story.

For me, that's part of documentary filmmaking too.

Observe.
Listen.
Don't force the moment.

And when somebody gives you access to their world, understand the responsibility that comes with it.

Much respect, SEN.

Man of the People.

THOUGHTFUL TUESDAY | SO FAR TO GO

Most of what we create happens from this side of the camera.

Lily and I behind the scenes. Setting up. Adjusting. Watching. Listening. Trying to be ready when the moment happens.

There’s something I’ve been thinking about lately:

Being intentional takes energy.
Being consistent takes energy too.

And trying to do both at the same time can be draining.

But I’m learning that consistency doesn’t always mean doing something big.

Sometimes it simply means showing up again.

Camera up.
Eyes open.
Still learning.
Still creating.

And somehow, “So Far to Go” felt right for this one.

Because sometimes you have to acknowledge how far you’ve come while being honest about how far you still want to go.

And while this song plays, I can't help but give flowers to J Dilla and D’Angelo. 🌹

Two musical geniuses we lost far too soon. Two artists whose influence continues long after their time here ended.

And Common… still here carrying that torch.

There’s something beautiful about that.

Create something that can keep speaking when you no longer can.

Maybe that's another reason we keep picking up these cameras.

That’s my thought for this Tuesday.

Sometimes the story behind the camera deserves a frame too.

A few #TBT moments of Lily and me doing what we love—side by side, cameras in hand, continuing to build Urban Canvas: From the Underground Up.

Two Sony FX6s. ZEISS Nano Primes. The incredible CZ.2 70–200mm T2.9. And most importantly, the trust to put these tools in our hands and allow us to create with them.

That word—trust—means a lot to me.

Because access isn't just about getting through a door. It's about what you do once someone opens it for you.

We tested. We learned. We created. We pushed ourselves. And we captured images that are now becoming part of something much bigger than the equipment used to make them.

Thank you to the team at ZEISS for believing in what we're building and supporting independent filmmakers like us.

And to my partner behind the camera and in life, Lily Ramos—we keep building.

One frame at a time.

This summer, we didn't just document the culture.

We moved the story forward.

Wall by wall. Conversation by conversation. City by city. Every event gave us another piece. Another voice. Another layer of a story that can only be told by being present, earning trust, and continuing to show up.

What started as a film about graffiti has become something much deeper.

Legacy. Brotherhood. Sacrifice. Survival. Art. Ownership. And the people behind the names we've seen on walls for generations.

This summer pushed Urban Canvas: From the Underground Up forward in ways we couldn't have scripted.

And maybe that's the point.

You don't always know where a documentary will take you.

You listen.
You follow.
You earn access.
And when the door opens—you step through it.

We're still building.
Still listening.
Still earning trust.
Still telling the story.

And we're getting closer.

Some people need motivation.

Sometimes you need to see what’s possible when somebody keeps showing up, keeps creating, and keeps putting in the work.

So maybe these finished pieces are exactly what somebody needs to see today.

If you needed a little motivation… I hope this does it.

#FBF — San Francisco, circa 2022.

Some images you capture.

Others make you stop.

I remember coming across this Black Panther tribute and knowing I needed to document it.

History on a wall.

Memory in color.

A reminder of struggle, resistance, community, sacrifice, and voices that refused to disappear.

Years later, the photograph still speaks.

And maybe that's part of why we document.

Because walls change. Neighborhoods change. People move on.

But the image becomes a witness.

ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE.

No sound. On purpose.

SEN1. FRITOS. A blackbook. A moment between two artists who have lived, witnessed, and contributed to this culture in ways that can’t be manufactured.

FRITOS puts a piece in SEN1’s blackbook.

We’re there to document it—but not everything we’re given access to needs to be heard by everyone.

That’s the difference between being in the room and simply seeing what happened.

Access is earned.
Access is trust.
And some moments are meant to remain with the people who were there.

This is Urban Canvas: From The Underground Up.
