We’re gearing up for a fun weekend in the shop with a beautiful glass pour and a fun special!We had another busy week in the vat making cheese and getting cheese out to our wholesale partners locally and across the country. We’re always thrilled to get to share our cheese with so many of our longtime accounts and to have so many new ones coming on board - thank you to everyone that supports our cheese.Our team is always making tasty treats with our cheese and accoutrements….this week they whipped up a batch of the viral Charcuterie Nachos - and they are DELICIOUS. They’re so delicious that we’ll be featuring them in the Tasting Room this weekend. Torres Black Truffle Potato Chips, Melted Street Ched®, Smoking Goose Salame Toscana, Diced Cornichons, Quark and a drizzle of Honey. Limited quantity available, so don’t dally. It’s crazy good and everything you would dream it could be.We’re also pouring a crisp and refreshing Falanghina from Terredora di Paolo this weekend. It’s fresh and well balanced Italian white wine from Campania with crisp acidity and lovely and long finish and pairs perfectly with the Charcuterie Nachos or any of our cheese. It’s a great food-friendly wine to enjoy in the Tasting Room or to take home for some al fresco dining.We’d love to see you this weekend in the Tasting Room or help you grab some cheese and other goodies to enjoy at home or if you’re headed to a friend’s house. Saturday is National Wine & Cheese Day, which is kind of like the biggest holiday in our books and would be a great day to make plans to visit the shop. Happy Friyay friends!We hope you’ve had a great week, but the best news is that we’ve made it to the weekend. We’re back from cheese camp and made lots of fresh cheese this week & have our award-winning’Nati Gouda & Street Ched in the case as well as our Tomme d’Evanston. We’re stocked with fresh Cheese Curds, Misty River Camembert, Quark, Ohio Valley Pimento, Beer Cheese and crowd-favorite Pineapple Jalapeno Quark. We’ve also made a fresh batch of our Young ‘Bert this week-it’s a fun snacking cheese.We’ve been bringing some fantastic new products into the shop lately as well. If you’ve been missing Paul Thomas Sancerre or Anne Amie’s Passetoutgrains….you’re in luck-they’re both back in stock!Swing through to grab some retail or spend some time with us in the Tasting Room this weekend. We’re still riding the high from having 2 of our cheeses land in the Top 11 Best in Show at @american_cheese_society and would love to share them with you and tell you all about it 🧀❤️ by @urbansteadcheese

Scenes from yesterday’s cheesemaking 🧀And, we finally corralled our amazing cheesemaking team for a team photo, including Millie. Millie is our curd mill and only works a little bit each week, but boy is she a valuable member of our team!We made some beautiful Street Ched yesterday and are in the vat with our ‘Nati Gouda today ❤️ by @urbansteadcheese

It felt so so good to be with our team and our cheese today and to be making cheese…Misty River Camembert, Quark & Tomme d’Evanston. Street Ched & curds tomorrow & we’ll rounds it out with a batch of ‘Nati Gouda on Wednesday 🤩It also appears that our parking lot squirrels don’t appreciate melted Camembert 😂 by @urbansteadcheese

Happy happy Saturday friends!We arrived back in Cincy, or as we like to say - the ‘Nati, last night and are excited to be back in the shop today!Andrea is on the counter today and we’re SO excited to share two of the @american_cheese_society Top 11 Best in Show cheeses with you.Swing through for some First Place Street Ched & ‘Nati Gouda or grab a seat and some bevvies to get out of the rain.We’d love to tell you about the most amazing week we’ve had 🧀❤️ by @urbansteadcheese

What a night!We are still wrapping our heads around the fact that not one, but TWO, of our cheeses landed in the Top 11 Best in Show cheeses at this year’s @american_cheese_society competition.We are beyond thrilled to share the news that Street Ched won the Clothbound Cheddar aged under 12 months category and was awarded 3rd Place in the Clothbound Cheddar aged over 13 months category and that our ‘Nati Gouda also won First Place in the Dutch-style aged over 10 months category. But the icing on the cake was learning that BOTH Street Ched & ‘Nati Gouda were named to this year’s Top 11 Cheeses with our ‘Nati Gouda earning 3rd Place Best in Show overall. We’ll have more to say about all of this, but for now we just want to say thank you thank you thank you to our team, to ACS, to our partners, to our customers, to our distributors, to our local community, to our friends & family….this is an immense honor and we are going to ride this wave and celebrate 🍾 by @urbansteadcheese

Fresh on the heels of last week’s International Cheese and Dairy Competition, we’re thrilled to share the news that our Street Ched won Gold in the Extra Mature/Vintage Cheddar category and that our Quark won Bronze in the Soft/Semi-soft category.We don’t always put extra age on our Street Ched, but this 30 month-aged was a stunner and we’re so proud of it!The International Cheese and Dairy Awards, held in Staffordshire, England, is the longest-running and largest competition of its kind, drawing thousands of entries from producers around the globe each year. We’re incredibly honored at the opportunity to compete in this competition and for our cheeses to have done so well. We’re also incredibly grateful to the US Dairy Export Council for assisting us, and other American cheeses, in getting our cheeses overseas for judging and for sponsoring entry fees. Congratulations to everyone that competed at the ICDA and to everyone that won an award!@internationalcheeseawards @ohcheeseguild @ohioproud by @urbansteadcheese

Heads up friends-we have holiday hours this week!We’ve added some hours this week, just in case you’re headed out of town early for the holiday weekend or if you just want to swing through and stock up on holiday provisions. Grab some cheese, some crisp & cold bottles of wine and all the goodies for a great 250th Fourth of July weekend celebration. And, yes!, we still have availability for our big boards…if you’re hosting on the 4th & need help, give us a call-we’d love to take some work off your hands. Happy Pride Month and Happy Pride Weekend Cincinnati!Inclusivity, acceptance, a safe space where all are welcome and where diversity is celebrated is at the cornerstone of who we are at Urban Stead Cheese. Queen City Charities® is committed to celebrating the broad diversity of the LGBTQ+ community through the arts of storytelling and drag. If you’re still wondering where you’re going to watch tomorrow’s US vs. Australia World Cup game, we’ve got you covered!We’ll be opening early at 2:30pm so you can get in and grab your seat to watch the US men take on the Aussies. Our team whipped up a batch of Buffalo Chicken Dip, made with our Street Ched, Quark and Cheese Curds and TS Farms chicken and it’s the perfect afternoon snack while you watch some soccer.
