Hearing is believing: on hauntology, perception and the bodies of sound

A speculation on sonically navigated attention, composed of acts of apprehending, noticing and engaging with the unseen 〰️ a ritual of triad of mediums in a somacoustic state of sublimation 〰️ an Auricle expanded and vigilant: sounding, hearing and listening, all at once.

Since I am ALWAYS late with posting my work, this is going to be another #tb #tbthursday lol.
soo nearly one year ago we were in the midst of the production phase of In Darkness Let Me Dwell by the iconic @_beach_ball._ and I am STILL riding high on it. This was one of my favorite projects everrr.
I was in charge of costumes, which was incredibly MAD FUN and I wanted to dedicate a few pictures to them. (special thanks to @stillarat /@helicopdah for the bog body thighs & @yourspecialagentfabia for being much needed H&M support)

CHARACTERS (with a few details)

Prince of Darkness - loves doom and sardonic disdain -> black teeth, spiky claws & an imprisoned heart (1&2)
Princess Airhead - a mean IT-Girl with a bloody babydoll dress and a Wild&Free Patch (3)
Bog Body 1 - cable bondage, film glasses, 01010000111 on shirt — MAD FUN paper on the back (5)
Bog Body 2 - news paper shirt & Ralph Lauren tennis dress — the Bog Bodies are too cool and work for the Department of MAD FUN (Morally Ambiguous Dead Future Unamerican Nightmare) (6)
Sailor / Clown - sparkly eye patch ... (3)
The Child Behind the Sun - oh so mysterious and otherworldly (8)
The Queen of Fucking England - candle crown & a stiff collar - printed with old electric circuit motive metal plates (10)
The Executioner - with Create-The-Life-You-Want shirt (9)
The Cybernetic Swamp - smudged corpse paint (only Flavio / 7)

I miss being bog body 2 so someone give us space and funding to do it again!

babessss, i made a hat - imagine it being very windy and all the papers you own are flying uncontrollably through your room - everything is dramatic - you hate work - you dreamt of flying sheep ruining your day - you eventually became friends - grey is a happy colour if not used by the sky

Still riding the high from the performance of „in darkness let me dwell“ for @musik_installationen_nuernberg last week. Here’s a random assortment of audience documentation from friends, strangers (thanks especially to @julia98.4 and Luisa) and my professor JP Raether from @liveartforms , to which I owe the creation of this work!! Thanks to the inner team of bog bodies @sinifalte and @urigelli , who were dream collaborators / conspirators / evil dead pop stars. Thanks to @laresmetal for your patience and openness (and bone crunching screams) , to @_mennobenno_ for bringing the lute into the realm of experimental noise, to @jaekeleva and @bowdyke for being the most dysfunctional doomer sibling duo, to @_.origami._ for singing backwards, and of course to Elke Stein-Nagel for so graciously agreeing to lose her head. Being haunted by the spectres of dead futures requires a different kind of exorcism, one that doesn’t rely on nostalgia hope or utopian thinking. Here we are dwelling, repeating, enduring, thinking about a kind of ecstatic doom that is a practice of the impossible and a ritual of failure. Holding out for the idea of an outside. Thanks to everyone involved, also to @julianschenk_ for recording, mixing and mastering and @k_lee_vegas for the nimble camera work. More documentation to come! by @urigelli

lovetenderrecklessfishsalad (2023) is exploring notions of the ,last true resort of masculinity‘: (hobby) fishing
The installation consists of several different parts and materials: a video with a poem, spiky steel sculptures, a calendar printed on towels, fishing utensils and (at maxikunst: keys)
.. as it is very common in car workshops even the fishing community has their own annual ‚sexy’ Karpfenkalender.
But since neither the fish nor the flinta*s felt well represented to me i gathered my dear friends and colleges who never seize to inspire me to a counter fish shooting, with creatures crawling out of the cold river (in march!!), tender touches of love, spit to water, water to spit and bloody spikes not welcoming greedy gazes.
