i remember i missed going to a show last year in blr & my friend, aṇu, telling me her life changed visiting it. she told me excitedly all about the lines, the patterns, the colours & followed it up with the words “printmaking”. it took me aback, confused me, print, really i thought? But, looking at his work in-person, I see it now. what an incredible retrospective at JNAF (@jnafmumbai) by Krishna Reddy where every line and colour can immerse you into a different universe, he truly changed the way printmaking can be perceived 🤍 taken in Jehangir Nicholson Art Foundation,CSMVS by @urjjashah

during our studio, we collaborated with 1shanthiroad, which held ground in fostering a sense of belonging and comfort to me.

this experience stood in contrast to my gallery work of last summer whose exclusionary logic dehumanised and disoriented—bodies, art and artists.

this disjunction made me question: why do some spaces allow us to feel expansive and big, while others render us invisible?

using the objects and architecture of 1shantiroad that decorate the ceilings, the walls, and the floors, i began અંતર્મુખી (antarmukhi) to look inward, to map my inner landscape and trace how objects and spaces that surrounded me were shaping how i felt, to re-ask: how do spaces enable us “to be”? by @urjjashah
