Pete and Andy spent time with us this past season, touring Grøtdalstindane, Skårasalen and Ystevasshornet, and skiing a day at Stranda Ski Resort — then wrote a story of how Uteguiden came to be.⁠

It’s not really about us though. It’s about Sunnmøre: quiet lines south of the Arctic Circle, a fjord town built around the mountain, and why we’ve always believed a guiding company only makes sense here if it gives something back — the climbing wall, the café, all of it.⁠

Frames from my latest work, a week spent kayaking through the fjords.

Thank you @uteguiden for the incredible opportunity, and @kajakkim for guiding me through these waters and sharing the experience with me.

I wanted to create something that went beyond simply capturing beautiful images of the fjords. After the journey, I interviewed my wonderful guide, Kim Van Groningen, about what it feels like to move through this landscape by kayak.

Instead of making the film informational, I wanted to focus on the serene feeling of kayaking through the fjords.

Kim spoke about it so beautifully. Her words brought a poetic and spiritual perspective to the journey and helped shape the film.
