Ceramics built for a grounding sense of comfort
Made by hand in Atlanta, GA 𐃢

POSTS STORIES REELS

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Utility Objects is the creation of Afro-Latina ceramicist Aleisha Duchateau (Doo-sha-TOE). In this one-woman studio, I blend organic textures and glazes to create contemporary, handcrafted pieces. Each work celebrates the inherent beauty of clay, often featuring distinctive satin or rock-like finishes. Utility Objects designs draw inspiration from wabi-sabi (emphasizing the handmade) from Japan as well as European splatterware designs from the 18th century. These influences are used to craft unique pieces for everyday use and artful displays. by @utilityobjects

CABINET KNOBS

—
Fridays are for experimenting! ✨ I’m drafting about 10 more knob styles, fully aware that my artistic brain will probably only approve of two in the end.

Anyone else suffer from being their own worst critic 🥴
