Our 9th book in the Art & Design Fine Art Book Series (10th book overall) is getting ready to go to press early next week. We are excited to share all the amazing art and design that the book contains with everyone. The title of the book will be Nouveau Lumière: Illuminating Legacies and will celebrate both the creation of the first permanent photograph taken 200 years ago and the evolution of the art world in the subsequent decades.

The plan for the book launch is currently the evening of Thursday, October 1st and will coincide with the artists reception for the corresponding exhibit that will be held in the Gallery on 6th at UVU. Here is a sneak peak of some of the spreads while we were working through the prepress process. You also get a sneak peak for the design for the hardback cover. Use your imagination and picture a dark blue fabric with all the line art in a silver foil stamp. In our imagination it looks spectacular. by @uvuartbooks

Ever Arriving is a visual story about the journey — and now, it arrives at a new destination: winner of the @ippyawards Silver Medal for Best Coffee Table Book.

A journey rarely goes as planned, and this book was no different. Beginning with a study abroad, Ever Arriving was inspired by the life and work of Robert Louis Stevenson… but along the way, it became something else entirely.

Featuring student artwork, essays, and poetry that’s been shaped not just by a place, but by what it means to leave, to arrive, and to be changed by the journey in-between.

From the mist of the Scottish Highlands to the warmth of Samoan shores, this book morphed into a meditation on travel, transformation, and the unexpected beauty found along the way.

This is not just a book. It’s a conversation between image and word, between artist and place, between where we begin and where we end up.

Tomorrow (Tuesday December 10th) from 9 am to 8 pm at Center Stage in the Sorenson Student Center is the new Art Bazaart. This is formally known as the ceramics sale but is now being expanded to include other arts as well. Including the fine art book series. All books will be $5 off at the sale. For anyone in need of some Christmas shopping, or to treat yourself. There will be some great art options available. We hope to see you there. by @uvuartbooks

Tomorrow night, (Thursday night) starting at 5:00 pm, will be the artists reception and book launch for the newest project in the UVU fine art book series, Composing Chaos! This will be the last time to see the exhibit and the first chance to see the newest book. We will have copies of the book available for purchase at the exhibit for a discounted rate. In fact all books in the series will be discounted for this event. To add to the event, we will also be giving away 3 copies of the new book during the artists reception tomorrow night. We will announce the first winner at 6:30. We will post the winners on our stories. All you have to do is comment on this post for a chance to win. We hope to see as many of you as possible at the Gallery on 6th (GT 634) tomorrow night. by @uvuartbooks

The artist’s reception and book launch for our latest book, “Composing Chaos” is coming up soon. September 28th from 5:00-8:00 (or 9:00, we will see) hope to see many of you there.
